INTRODUCTION The Panthera tigris or commonly known as tiger is one of the biggest cat species, which is its body length is about 3.38 m over curves. This animal has the unique pattern of stripes on its orange fur. The tiger is classified from the kingdom of animalia, phylum of chordate, subphylum of vertebrate, class of mammalian, order of carnivore, family of felidae, genus of panther and species of tigris. Tigers are totally carnivore, which usually hunted for the other animals such as bovids and deer. Tigers are commonly social animals but territorial and generally solitary. This zoo is the second-largest zoo in Malaysia since more than 1200 animals from the 215 different species can be found. Malacca zoo was established in 1963 as well as Zoo Negara, but the Department of Wildlife and National Parks took over this zoo in 1979. This zoo is basically used for the wildlife rescue base, but on August 13, it was opened to the public by the Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad. Basically, environmental enrichment is given to the tiger for addressing stereotype behaviour in the enclosure (Szokalski, Litchfield & Foster, 2012). The tigers are given novel food items and novel items such as toys and balls. Besides, the zoo keepers altered the food displays and feeding routine to the tigers as their enrichment. Sometimes, the novel scent is given in the enclosure to stimulate the tigers. In addition, the increasing of the enclosure size and their rotation is one of the enrichment for the tigers. As the social animal, the interaction between themselves is one of the social enrichment in the enclosure. The zoo is linked with the Veterinary Department in order to keep the tigers healthy. The Veterinary Department is usually come every day to the zoo to treat the animals with ailments or injuries. The Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) is responsible to take cares of the commodity development, the service in livestock health and the support service for the tigers in the enclosure. Malacca Zoo is planning to build the healthcare for the tigers in order to serve the comprehensive cares (Maketab, 2012) .
