Australia has created a multicultural society today since the 1788, where people from different races, religions and cultures have come to an equal treatment. Although Australia today still faces less unequal treatment between some cultures and beliefs when compared to the 17th century and today.
During 1788, people in Australia were finding it hard to create a stable multicultural society, where ‘settler society’ took places. The ‘settler society’ required the dispossession of indigenous people in order for society to follow the political economy, which required society to do a lot of labour jobs. Therefore, during1788 there were other arrivals from different minority groups that had come to Australia, which some groups were welcome and some were not welcomed to the country. During this period, multicultural society was not a stable issue, where different races, religions and cultures did not treated each other equally.
In references to the Australian bureau of statistics, it is mentioned that Australia is a multicultural society, where it is reported in the 2011 census that over quarter of Australian’s population was born overseas. Therefore, this states the census in 1911, was that migrants have made up a large element of the population. Overall, the Australian bureau of statistics presents that the pattern of migrants have made up, a rich diverse society, which is that Australia is come to a multicultural society. In which different religions, languages, and ancestries were all accepted.
According to Suter (2001, pg.280), he explores the way how multiculturalism was during the period 1788 and 1945, where most migrants came to Australia from different nations. During these periods the white Australian policy was established, ...

To conclude, Australia has become to a successful multicultural society, within people of all races, religions and cultures that had created equally within Australia. Australia has had challenges for the nation to become a multicultural society, although it has succeeded from 1975 till today, where all different cultures, beliefs and races are accepted and are treated fairly and equally.
