ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS
Organization is the most important skill every special education and general students should learn. All students will be required to have a five binder note book with five tabbed dividers with pockets. At the end of every two weeks, students will empty out the papers that have been graded or are no longer needed. This gives the students and teacher an idea of students’ strengths and weaknesses as well as developing a new and vital skill for student success.
The five sections of the binder should include:
• Notes
• Homework
• Handouts and Worksheets
• Tests and Quizzes
• Blank Paper
INCORPORATING VISUAL AID
• To insure that students with hearing or language impairment can hear and understand teacher’s instructions, teacher should always speak directly to students face-to-face.
• Sitting arrangements should include face-to-face group discussions. Sitting arrangement is extremely beneficial as a learning strategy that can aid the understanding of all students. This type of strategy can also allow more thorough communication skills to develop between students, which not only aids to benefit students with hearing impairments and language delay but also general students.

The primary purpose of implementing study skills strategies is to provide tools and techniques to teach students how to understand and learn new material or skill in the classroom so that they can be more organized in their everyday lives. From basic organization to learning techniques, study skills strategies aim to make students better students. One main advantage of Study Skills is that it teaches students how to organize their academic lives so that they can better organize their lives outside of school. These study skill strategies may be useful for special education and general students to ensure that lessons and teaching strategies are modified to meet each student’s needs.
