A boy named Erick, who is in kindergarten, and has non-stop motion. He seemed to do whatever he wanted to do. His teacher was at her breaking point. The teacher would tell him to sit, for this case it seemed to be even worse than from the beginning. When told to get out a book for reading time he didn 't he just got up with a pencil in hand and was sharpening while the class had their books reading. When class or group was working hard, he ran up to the front of the class and had gotten the bathroom pass and ran out of class with it down the hall. She had scheduled a conference with his parents due to the excessive behavioral problems always in class, but it didn 't change the behavior of Erick. These are all signs of ADHD.
Attention Deficit/ Hyper activity is a neurobehavioral condition that interferes with a person’s ability to pay attention and when focusing on a task, acts without thinking and can 't stay still. In “ADHD As A Difference In Cognition, Not A Disorder” by Stephen Tonti at TEDxCMU he says, “ADHD is misunderstood as an inability to focus, but it’s much stranger than that it’s not a lack of focus period., but it’s the person that has a hard time selecting something and giving it their full attention.” We need a healthier understanding for ADHD it’s only the things that grab the attention that will peak the person’s curiosity. This disorder is one of the most common childhood disorders which can continue throughout early life into adulthood. Children often have other mental issues such as depression, anxiety, and oppositional defiant disorder. Children with ADHD have low self-esteem and poor social skills and are bullied by peers and are always excluded from the group of people at school. These children are creative,...

Hyperactivity is increased movement, impulsive actions, and a shorter attention span.” The impulsive type is where you do things out of nowhere you don’t know why, but you did it. The combined type is where you are hyperactive, you can’t stay still in one place if you are in one place you have to be moving a body part or doing something with your hands and the inattentive where you are talking about something and in a few seconds you zone out and forget what you’re talking about or you’re doing something and another thing pops in your mind so you do that thing and eventually other things and not accomplishing the thing you were doing in the very beginning.
ADHD children become better if accommodations are useful for them.
