What is an astrology sign? Well, most people already know that each individual astrology sign is based off of a human being’s date of birth. The month and the day of a person’s birthday is what determines a single person’s astrological sign. All of these findings through astrology reflect back within the older ages of history. “The earliest known astrological records date back to Babylon, 1645 BC, and the earliest horoscope to 410 BC” (“History of Astrology”). Most descriptions and superstitious myths of astrology actually reveal truth in some ways, and whether or not people believe, the debate still continues.
Astrological signs created through the Babylonians are divided and determined through two of Earth’s distinct movements: 1) The rotation around the sun, and 2) The length of daytime throughout the year. Throughout the celestial belt of the sun’s orbital course, there is a division of 12 signs, called “Zodiac signs”.
The zodiac (which is derived from the Greek work meaning “circle of animals”) is believed to have developed in ancient Egypt and later adopted by the Babylonians. Early astrologers knew it took 12 lunar cycles (i.e., months) for the sun to return to its original position. They then identified 12 constellations that they observed were linked to the progression of the seasons and assigned them names of certain animals and persons. (“American Federation of Astrologers”)
The aspects and details of astrology are very scientific and interesting. These are things we cannot figure out without scientific reason and investigation or study.

So, it could be concluded that astrology is real, or it could be that it is all just fictional myth. So what is it? Nobody really knows, and so the debate continues.

Throughout the day we are constantly checking the time, preparing for the upcoming months, and keeping track of the year. Clocks tell us the time we use as a measurement. It’s how we keep track of those important months and events, such as holidays and birthdays. Although there are many investigations and research being done on the nature of time, many unresolved issues remain.

I have chosen to write about the constellation Cancer (The Crab). I chose Cancer because it is one of only a handful of constellations that I am actually able to identify in the night sky. Cancer is one of the twelve Zodiac constellations; people whose birthdays fall between June 21st and July 22nd have Cancer as their sign. Cancer is the Latin word for crab, and despite the fact that the constellation looks more like a lobster then a crab, it is still referred to as a crab. The constellation is visible from the northern hemisphere from late winter to early spring.
Physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels are all involved. I appear calm on the surface but I can be extremely emotional inside. The sun in Scorpio is a combination of powerful traits, half of which contradict the other. I can be independent, yet clingy, passionate, and yet cold. Once I engage my emotions by focusing on the positive aspects I can become dedicated and sincere in my undertaking, and with others. However, current birthstones are linked to calendar months, and every month has its proprietary unique birthstone, with its own story properties. Many people like to wear jewelry set with their birthstone, as the prehistoric meanings and relations with these gemstones still intrigue them.
There are many things that can alter the personality of an individual; some of these are voluntarily inflicted, while others are uncontrollable. Among the uncontrollable altercations, birth order is perhaps the largest influence on a person's disposition. Personality is influenced by the "place" a person has in their family as well as the family situation. It is important whether an individual is an only child, first born, second born, third born, a boy among girls, or a girl among boys, and so on.
Numerous studies have shown correlation between birth rate and personality. Birth rate can be defined as the ratio of total live births to that of the total population, in a specific community during a certain period of time. It is usually expressed in numbers of live birth over 1000 population in a year. Birth order is believed to have a lasting effect on psychological development. One of the most read sections in the paper today is the astrological page. Why is that? It's because people look for easy answers to their everyday problems. But most people would not believe that their horoscope was probably someone else's horoscope from the day before. People will try to make what they read really happen. So if your horoscope for today said that you are going to have a great day and you'll be in a good mood, you probably will have a day like that, only because you read it early in the day and that person who wrote that influenced you to try and actually make a great day for yourself. Coming from personal experience, one of my exgirlfriends read our horoscope on if we were going to be a long lasting couple. She was very much into the whole tarot card readings and into astrology. She would read them every day. I suppose you can already figure out what the horoscope said? Yes, it said that we weren't going to last.
Like math, astronomy incorporates a healthy (or-not-so-healthy, depending on your perspective) usage of symbols. These symbols are often times greek letters, like in many other forms of equations. These symbols are commonly used in formulas. There is practically an astrological formula for everything; formulas to calculate brightness, distance, luminosity, and a myriad of others. What do you know about astrology and the zodiac signs? Astrology is like a good mystery, because you find out things that are true about yourself. It also helps you understand yourself better, and understand other people as well.
It was not up until 200 years ago that people started identifying their zodiac sign with the position of the Sun. So when a person is asked what is his or sign, the Sun was passing through on the day that person was born. This can be demonstrated on a birth chart. Our birth charts are special "sky maps" which reflect the quality of the exact moment we drew our first breath. With that first breath, we each began our own incredible hero's journey through life on planet Earth. The birth positions of the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto all play their own unique symbolic roles as messengers and ambassadors of the universe.
