According to Peter Barnes, "Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases globally and currently affects approximately 300 million people worldwide." Asthma is a disease that affects the respiratory system. It disturbs breathing tubes attached to the lungs; its function is to transmit air to and out of the lungs. It is really common that it is now considered as a severe public health problem (S. Hasan Arshad, K. Sureesh Babu, 2008). An asthma attack can cause coughing and wheezing. The patient's chest possibly will feel tight, and will most likely feel short of breath. The airways tighten and become narrower when something triggers an asthma attack, and the lining of the airways swells. Sticky mucus can build up making the airways even narrower. This makes it really difficult to breathe (Ballard, 2011). Things like allergens, cold air, exercises, emotions or medications can trigger asthma.
