Junior College is the Best Option
Oftentimes we hear negative opinions and comments about attending a junior college over a university. Through my experiences I feel there are many benefits in attending a junior college. The benefits I have found include: convenience, educational benefits, and financial savings.
First of all, attending a junior college is convenient in many ways. For example, if a student attends a junior college there is a better chance of having someone that you know in a particular class. Knowing someone in a class is a little less scary than being in it all alone. It is also convenient to attend a junior college to be closer to home. If a student decides to attend a junior college, he or she could choose to live at home, which saves money. By attending a junior college a person does not have a long drive home for holidays or weekends. Furthermore, attending a junior college is convenient because students will be able to keep their high school jobs. If they are not able to keep their high school jobs, they are more familiar with other job openings in the area.
Educational benefits is another good reason for deciding to attend a junior college instead of a university. I feel that a student can learn more and get more out of a class lecture when there are smaller classes. It is easier for me to ask questions when the class size is 30 versus 300 students. Having a smaller class means that the instructor will have a little more time for one-on-one meetings and discussions. In one of my classes this semester at Sauk Valley Community College, the professor goes over the tests after grading is done with each individual student. I am sure you won't find this at a four-year college. The classes at a junior college are held in classrooms, and at universities they are often held in big lecture halls. Another educational benefit to attending a junior college is the smaller campus. The campuses at most universities are huge! It takes less time to get from one class to another at a junior college. Most of the time the junior college has one main building that holds all the various classes offered.

By being connected to the right people in the right positions who would be willing to serve as your mentor, you are likely to get more exposure in your field of study, and this can setup you up to move right into a position that you would like to work. Early college will continue to challenge yourself instead of staying in high school just wasting time and hindering your growth when you know that you are ready for a challenge. Being able to go to college early will bring about better job opportunities and show the higher level of maturity of your child. College is also about the connections that you make in your major and with your peers. The two advantages are that you have more time to explore fields you want to study in and people who can’t afford college can get a college education. The two disadvantages are that there is a limited amount of majors and universities will have a higher expectation for two-year community colleges. In today 's society, there are many families that can 't afford college and have to take loans. The government should be able to take care of those needs. When people come fresh out of high school, a lot of people don’t usually know what they want to do with their life. There are reasons to why they might not offer particular majors at a community college such a budget and resources. Critics contend that the influx of nontraditionals into the college student market has accelerated a trend toward the “massification” of collegiate education – that is, that it has led to a watered down pedagogy that is far below the goals and expectation of the elite colleges. Nonetheless, the improvements in education oriented toward accommodation of the nontraditional student have had the practical effect of making college more affordable and accessible to all classes of people.
One benefit of college is that you will have better self-discipline after you get out of college. This is true because people who don’t go to college only have a high school education in which they babied you to get you through. College allows people to grow and develop into more mature people. Once you have matured from college you realize you have to prioritize your life. Community colleges are less expensive than a four-year college. Parents are saving their money from a lot of things especially books because they are coming out of pockets to pay for their children books. Community colleges lecture and online classes are a lot cheaper as well. Going into a four-year university classroom there could be over 50 students. The community colleges have smaller classroom which could be helpful for some students. Their schedule is flexible for those students who have work or kids.
While many times it is not about the grades and getting into college, it is all the other aspects including financial issues, level of independence and whether or not a major is already determined. One of the hardest decisions a high school graduate faces is the choice between attending a community college or a university. Community college and 4-year universities both have great purposes but are meant for different people. In my opinion, somebody would benefit more affectively from a community college. There are several reasons why community college is a better choice for students. My reasons as to why I believe students should attend a community college rather than a 4-year university is because class sizes are much smaller, students will have the opportunity to have a flexible schedule, and students who are undecided about their majors have a chance to experiment and try different majors. While they both have their advantages and disadvantages, they both offer the same varieties of knowledge.

Both tattoos and body modifications are defined as a cultural representation of self-expression and sometimes even religion. In the article “Tattoos and Piercing: Issues of Body Modification and the Workplace,” Dr. Elzweig states, “Although tattooing is not a new phenomenon, the number of people who have tattoos has increased significantly and continues to rise. Life magazine estimated in 1936 that only 10% of me American population was tattooed in whole or in part (One out of ten Americans is tattooed, 1936)” (Elweig, Peeples).
The idea of going to college has many cons but it also has many pros. It is very important to get a college education. Although college is expensive, risky, and time consuming, the pros of a college education making more money, having increased opportunities, and finding jobs with better benefits over come all of these things. Most people cannot go wrong with pursuing a higher education. How is college beneficial? College is beneficial for academic, financial, and social reasons. This is a highly debated topic. Some think that to benefit academically, financially, and socially, people do not have to go to college. On the other hand, some people think that going to college is the only way to do so.
