Recommended: Effects of hinduism on indian society

This Art and World Culture course has taught me things I truly didn 't expect to learn. I had no idea about the Nayak Dynasty, or that they had constructed some of the largest temples; like the Great Temple Madurai. I always wondered about how art can transcend time, I have started to grasp the influence of art in different areas around the world. When I originally started my journey as a freshman at SOSU I sincerely had moderate knowledge of how art affected and influenced numerous cultures all over the world. As I have taken more courses I started to gain knowledge and respect for different art and styles. I want to again reference the eightfold path. Personally, I am a religious woman. I try to do what is right; what is right by God, what is right by others, and what is right for myself. In my opinion; In our culture sometimes we can be influenced by a lot of pride. However, the eightfold path challenges us (me) to think outside of the box. For example, am I understanding the circumstances or situation correctly, is my perception correct, or is my reality being foreshadowed by my own personal opinion, rather than the facts of the situation or circumstances at hand. Something else that was also surprising to me was the distinctive sense of beauty in the Indian art. I would definitely enjoy the opportunity to learn more about South Asia. I really kind of struggled with the chapters about The Gupta period and the golden age of art and literacy, and also Gupta sculptures. Dr. Beach I want to sincerely thank you for your patience with me throughout this course.
