I always believe that every researcher should be equipped with the best of the knowledge that is available. The doctoral program in University of Calgary will provide me with an opportunity to learn more about adult education and prepare me to be a senior level educator and researcher. That is why I am applying to the Ph.D. program in Educational Studies in Adult Learning, in the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. I am very motivated to commit myself to academic pursuits in the field of educational studies; particularly, I am planning to do quality research on educational issues within adult education and adult learning contexts. The Ph.D. degree is essential to develop my capabilities and to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities that will help to produce quality research in my area of interest. I have a special interest to develop policies for adult learners that seeks to provide ever greater security and resources for those children who are in most need of help, educationally challenged children and members of at-risk minority groups. For this research goal, my research target audience is elementary school teachers. I would like to evaluate existing elementary teacher training program in Pakistan and highlight the shortcomings. I will also develop a teacher training program which will fulfill the requirement of modern era.
I studied economics and statistics in my undergraduate program. I completed a M.A. (Economics) from the University of the Punjab, Pakistan. I also completed M. Phil (Masters of Philosophy in Applied Economics) from the University of Karachi, Pakistan. My dissertation title was “Determinants of health expenditures and its distributional impacts on various income groups in Pakis...

...strengthen my research skills and learn about theoretical paradigms and research related to educational policy particularly for adult learners. To find the research interest of a sizable faculty in these fields is an added advantage. Moreover, working individually with Dr. Colleen Kawalilak, (she has agreed to work as a research supervisor with me), will provide me the opportunity to sharpen my research and teaching strength. Being diligent, assiduous and ambitious, I strongly believe I can match the high standards and contribute fruitfully to the research endeavors at your university. With the exposure of advanced studies at University of Calgary, I would ultimately wish to contribute towards the educational development. I am confident that, I will be well equipped to play an influential role in a modern educational development in Canada and developing countries.

Two particular authors wrote their essays on education, and although they focus on two unlike subjects entirely, the authors describe specific goals that they wish to have achieved based on their observations and experiences; therefore, there is at least some form of similarity.
Lastly, it was a great opportunity to conduct interviews with Dr. Githens and Mr. Collins. I could reaffirm the motivations and the reasons why I want to pursue a doctoral degree. Having the suggestions from the two great scholars, I have more confidence that I can concentrate on the important components of what it takes to be a successful scholar. The way to be a scholar is a long road, time-consuming, and particularly difficult work expected of pursing the doctoral degree; however, it will allow me to see the impact and growth on an individual’s development. I look forward to continuing on the next level of my education in human resource development. I believe that the way to be a professional scholar is a never-ending road, and the most important thing is to keep learning, thinking and being critical with a passion.
Whether I end up teaching social studies, special education, or a combination of the two, I will be content. I also believe that Loyola University Maryland’s School of Education will help me achieve this goal. Having attended information sessions for graduate education, I am very impressed with Loyola’s program and I believe that this program is in alignment with my beliefs and will best meet my needs. It is my hope that you will take my application into serious consideration. If you decide to accept me, you will not regret it.
Many more adults are returning back to school in order to pursuit a degree or to resume with their unfinished studies. Whichever the case may be, adult education has become more popular now days than it was 20 or 30 years ago and as the result many more schools are creating programs that focus more on andragogy (adult education) teaching programs. In which the adult student can learn by applying some of the most important principals of adult learning, making the learning experience more enjoyable, practical and convenient to the student.

There are many programs in education that focus on providing different teaching approaches that are intended to lead to greater student achievement and teacher success. In addition, teachers have to increase their knowledge and professional growth by taking classes on-line, communicating with other professionals and attending workshops in schools or universities. There are many goals that I have accomplished in this program and I can assure that I have acquired positive results from every single goal. The outcome of each goal made me reflect on what I need to change as an educator and as a coach. For this reason, I still need to acquire more knowledge to foster my teacher development related to the area of specialization, take additional on-line classes to enhance my professional growth and support social change in my

...es at your university make its graduation program ideally suited to my professional goals. Your University provides a dynamic atmosphere, which will shape me to be a thinker and a learner. The flexibility of the curriculum will provide the broad-based education that I need to widen the scope of my knowledge and skills.
The adult education literature generally supports the idea that teaching adults should be approached in a different way than teaching children and adolescents. The assumption that teachers of adults should use a different style of teaching is based on the widely espoused theory of andragogy, which suggests that "adults expect learner-centered settings where they can set their own goals and organize their own learning around their present life needs" (Donaldson, Flannery, and Ross-Gordon 1993, p. 148). However, even in the field of adult education, debate occurs about the efficacy of a separate approach for teaching adults. Some believe that adult education is essentially the same process as education generally (Garrison 1994) and therefore does not require a separate teaching approach: that is, all good teaching, whether for adults or children, should be responsive in nature.
...ram.I am aware of the kind of dedication and resilience I will have to show over the years. I feel that I am adequately prepared for that, both in having technical qualifications and the right mind-set. My interest in the field of Computer Science and my eagerness to pursue Masters in the field strengthened when I came across the University of xxxx website for Computer Science. I intend to participate in the ongoing research in the campus. I am sure that the peerless faculty, the excellent facilities and the stimulating academic environment among the students of the University of xxx will prove immensely fruitful and facilitate my development as an individual researcher in my field.

As I ponder over my personal professional development experiences as an educator the realization of how one has developed over time is personally satisfying. Educating children especially children with special needs is a challenge within its self. As a teacher it is important that this writer makes a positive influence with students. There are going to be certain ideas that one tries to uphold and other discriminations that one will not allow. Everyone has their own beliefs teachers should do what is necessary not to infringe on others, but show children different way to think so that they have all the information needed to make educated choices. Children are open-minded they have not yet had to deal with or understand the injustices that they will encounter. If children are taught from an early age they will have the ability to succeed especially children with special needs as an educator my main goal is teaching the purpose of public schools, and education reform. It is my purpose to influence children and be positive influence.

On career point of view; the guidance and counseling can use the study in creating awareness of different careers available in the society. The Department of Education may accept the study in coming up with new methods, when accepting by designing learning tools and the promotion of staff. Lastly, the center may stress the study useful as it may act as a link networking a number of ministries such as the Ministry of Culture, Arts, Games, Sciences, Sports and Technology. Stake holders may use the information to find the level of effectiveness of the programs and how it can be combined into the concerns of teacher education
