Brief..
I am making a apple cider press because our farm grow sufficient amount of apples. These apples are being wasted by sheep and cows eating them. By making a apple press it will squish apples into juice where i can experiment making cider.The cider I do make from this project would be used for the end of hard long and dry day.

Action Plan
Step 1: Measure/ Marking out
- A ruler or a tape is used for linear measurements, a square is used to ensure right angles are maintained, and marking out knife or a pencil can be used for marking out. To set up other angles, and adjustable bevel can be used. To achieve parallel setting out, a marking gauge is used this can be adjusted.

- Stainless Steel Plate
I used the stainless steel because it has many great feature about it. This steel is noted for its hardness and is used for utensils, tableware, sinks, counter tops, and small appliances. Which makes it perfect for my press plate.
- Coach Bolts
I used coach bolts as they are general purpose bolts that can be used for anything. They are made out of steel so they are very strong and durable.Coach bolts are heavy duty bolts designed for metal to timber connections, or to join heavy timbers.
- Stainless Steel Screws
I used the stainless steel screw for my fasteners for the press plate because stainless steel does not readily corrode, rust or stain with water as ordinary steel does.
Mark Parent/CH2M to check temperatures to see if cold weather steel is required for climate. No preference if not required.

When I started watching The Cider House Rules I did not know what to expect. I came into this experience completely blind, as I did not watch the trailer or read any of the movie reviews beforehand. Cogne grade 329HT (steel grade: 1.4462) is a type of duplex stainless steel. It contain higher content in molybdenum than other steel. The advantages of 1.4462 is high yield and tensile stress. It is able to endure corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. The cost is also higher than other as grade1.4436 and 1.4301.
Stainless steel is a type of alloy that has a very strong lattice structure (an arrangement/ shape of the crystals or other objects) which in some case can be more beneficial than others depending on the type of application it may be used for. In many cases this structure will make the material more suited to being used in engineering applications such as tools for instance a hammer (stainless steel alloys) , also they can be used for gears, engines, electrical motors and hydraulic systems because the structure makes the material so strong. So when the arrangement of the structure is as above it makes the overall material even stronger which makes it a good for all the applications stated above. I believe its strength and durability are its main properties as these are commonly needed in the engineering industry, although it is also very well known to be used for its corrosion resistance as it is resistant to many types of corrosion. It is used for these properties because the components such as gears need to be strong in order to keep transferring and altering the rotary motion and torque exhibited in the machine that it may be used in, durable to withstand any loads or pressure put onto it and also corrosion resistance to give the components a bigger life span and increase its rate of work throughout its required use.
