One of the happiest moments in my life was when I cleared my engineering entrance test, and got an admit at PES Institute of technology for Bachelor’s in Mechanical. Having been part of this institution has given me a strong foundation in Core Mechanical subjects such as Dynamics and Kinematics of Machines, Solid and Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Manufacturing Sciences and Vibrations.
It was my dream to be a mechanical engineer since the time I experimented with a Simple Pendulum in my high school Physics lab. I was closely acquainted with many subjects, but there are only few which really captivated me. It was during third semester when I learnt that I will be studying fluid mechanics as a core subject, which will be taught by Mr. Padmashree Dr. T S Prahlad, Chair professor in fluid mechanics. His way of teaching fluid mechanics enticed me so much and fostered in me a flair for the subject. I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures from the first to the very last day.
I have streamlined my studies more towards subjects based on the fluid mechanics, which was influential on taking Hydraulics and pneumatic. I preferred Principles of Flight & Jet and Rocket propulsion taught by Mr. Padmashree Dr. T S Prahlad for my electives, which had major application of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. With persistent Endeavour and dedication, I have excelled in these subjects. I also taught some basic principles of thermodynamics and hydraulics to high school students back at my home town during the summer break. This actually gave me a deeper insight into the subject and a better understanding. It was then that I decided to do a project work based on the application of fluid mechanics.
During my course from first to sixth semesters, I undertook ...

The type of physics that I will be presenting is a branch of Fluid Mechanics. Fluid mechanics studies the physics of gases and liquids.
I am drawn to the teaching style in Penn’s Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics program, which promotes interactive learning. I would be able to understand both the conceptual foundations of engineering, as well as the practical applications of these textbook teachings. Furthermore, by gaining exposure to real-world problems as an undergraduate, I would be better prepared and more confident to face new challenges in the
Fluid mechanics can be divided into some subtitles, and these are fluid static (at rest) and fluid dynamic (in motion). These sections of fluid mechanics follow historical progression. In history, Archimedes thought about fluids firstly and his ideas were the entry of fluid static, and then Leonardo Da Vinci examined behaviors of complex flow. The important breakthrough about fluid dynamic appeared thanks to luminaries in Newtonian physics; they are Isaac Newton, Leonhard Euler and Daniel Bernoulli etc. Pressure as being three dimensional and velocity of fluid were explained thanks to Euler equations, but the equations were not enough to clarify the viscosity (friction) in a flow field. In the next century, Euler equations were developed by Claude-Louis Navier and George Stokes independently, and then new equations were derived and nowadays they are known as Navier-Stokes equations. These equations provided to describe internal friction acting in a flow field, but could not explain friction between a flow and a surface which contacts with the flow. The re...
At this stage of my life, I have many ambitions, the first step of which is to carry out my Masters studies in Automotive Engineering. Attending U.K. universities is surely a dream for distinguished students all over the world, especially the ones who are passionate about education. Secondly and a more subtle reason being acquiring a degree that has global recognition has become a necessity if one desires to carve out a niche for oneself in this increasingly global economy. Given a chance I shall prove my worthiness.
Banking on an excellent academic record coupled with a keen interest in the ever-growing field of science and technology motivated me to take up engineering. In school, I consistently secured one of the top positions of the class. I have always been attracted towards subjects that draw upon one's analytical abilities. Thus, Mathematics and Physics were my favorite subjects and I secured 89% marks in my 12th class. I am among the top 3 percent in Engineering entrance test to UG schools out of two and half lakh students and I could get into the top ranked college of the state and one of the most reputed universities in the country, K L Uni...
On a more scientific note I am interested in mechanics of fluids. This interest was enforced last year when I had the opportunity to attend a lecture on fluid mechanics at P&G. At the conference I greatly expanded my knowledge regarding the physical aspect of fluids and their properties. In last year's AS course we have met a topic in this field. I will be applying ideas and knowledge gathered from last year for this investigation.
... myself to be an innovative and novel contributor to this field after a few years completing my masters followed by doctorial.
It has taken a very long time for me to decide on the path that I wanted to take for my career. I have almost always known that I wanted to be an engineer. I was always more interested in applying my knowledge to solve problems rather than just research and understand the world. However, I had little to no inkling as to which field of engineering I wanted to go in to. I had always been a dabbler, involving myself in a large variety of activities with the interest of learning about how stuff works. I started out learning how to use the tools in the shed outback, making pinewood derby cars and model rockets. I would help my dad with home improvement and repair projects around the house. As time went on, my ability learns and apply
I'm aware about the potential of beginners are eminent but I feasibly surpass them. The interaction with highbrows in this field from around the globe will broaden my horizons and enhance my adorning traits. I assure to be an forte to ---- and I intend that the Admission Council backpack the same spirit. I look forward to a challenging career in research which may even be arduous and demanding at times but I am confident that with my sincerity and dedication, I will be able to make a meaningful contribution to the on going research developments and live up to the high standards expected off your university.Given an opportunity, I shall strive to channel my unbridled efforts into more productive avenues. I would like to say in conclusion that the essence of University education lies in the synergistic relationship between the department and the students. I think that graduate study at your University would be help me best with my academic pursuits and is a major step towards achieving my objectives. I would be grateful if I am given the opportunity to pursue my graduate study with financial assistance at your world-renowned
The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology defines Engineering as, “ the profession in which knowledge of the mathematical and natural sciences gained by study, experience and practice is applied with judgment to develop ways to utilize, economically, the materials and forces of nature for the benefit of mankind. “(ABET). An Engineer in my own words would be someone that is a problem solver and enjoys finding ways to improve imperfect designs. Examining closer at the specific discipline of Mechanical Engineering I have found the specific fields of study many Mech. Majors tend to go into. You can apply Mechanical Engineering to many different industries and it is seen as one of the more foundational
I am applying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Solid Mechanics to expand on my study of and experience with materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at UCLA. I now look forward to moving into graduate study in a field of engineering with a related, but different perspective. Materials Science and Engineering has allowed me to explore both materials and other fields within engineering, contributing to my strong interest in combining my study of Materials Science and Engineering with Mechanical Engineering. I have completed basic coursework in most areas of engineering, learning statics, thermodynamics, basic programming, and circuit design. This has provided a strong foundation to continue graduate study in other engineering disciplines. I
Mechanical engineering is a type of engineering which applies principles of physics and material science for the purpose of analyzing, designing, manufacturing and maintaining of mechanical systems (Gorp, 2005). It is involved with the production and usage of mechanical power in the operation of various machines and tools. Mechanical engineering is considered to be the most diverse engineering and has its breadth derived from the need to design tools and manufacture products which range from small individual parts to large systems. Mechanical engineering, as thought of by scholars, is related to Aerospace engineering, Manufacturing and Mechanical engineering (Van et al, 2011).
