Introduction Anthropogenic Global Warming Many consider global warming to be the largest threat that faces the earth today. This is just the opposite as we could not survive without global warming! The topic for this speech will be whether or not there is an imminent threat of Anthropogenic (or manmade global warming) at the end of my speech I would like the audience to develop the truce perspective on the issues of manmade global warming. This will be done through a small representation of the facts related to manmade global warming. To have a better understanding of what we’re exactly talking about in regards to the manmade global warming we will look at this chart. (See chart) The atmosphere is divided into four parts, 78% is in the form of nitrogen 21% is in the form of oxygen 9% argon gas and 0.037% C02. The basis for discussion on anthropogenic global warming is solely based on this 0.037% figure. Anthropogenic: manmade global warming alarmists, viewpoints, causes One of the first alarmists for the theory of anthropogenic global warming was roger Reveille. He was the first scientist to study, and receive funding for the primus of manmade global warming. During the 1960s Mr. Reveille taught at Harvard University where he established the center for population studies. During this same time period Albert Gore junior takes Mr. Reveilles class where he Tabulated data for a carbon dioxide survey. Al Gore would later state that this was the foundation for all of his work. Mr. Gore would then go on to win the noble peace prize in 2007 for his work on a documentary called the inconvenient truth. The film would also win the prestigious academy award for best documentary film (2007). “All across the world, in every kind of environment and region known to man, increasingly dangerous weather patterns and devastating storms are abruptly putting an end to the long-running debate over whether or not climate change is real. Not only is it real, it's here, and its effects are giving rise to a frighteningly new global phenomenon: the man-made natural disaster.” BARACK OBAMA, speech, Apr. 3, 2006. Climate change is not a theory contrary to what many individuals believe and is in fact confirmed by major scientific agencies such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the United States. Global Warming causes are mainly due to greenhouse gases that are trapped in the atmosphere and cause depletion of the earth’s ozone layer. Carbon Dioxide is a greenhouse gas, and although it is a necessary component in our atmosphere as it helps plants perform photosynthesis, too much of it causes ozone depletion and therefore climate change. Carbon Dioxide levels in the atmosphere have increased tremendously after the industrial revolution, which indicates that the major cause of this issue is due to anthropogenic activities.

For the first time in planet earth’s history, one of its inhabitants has acquired the power to change the global climate. By releasing the huge amounts of carbon stored in fossil fuels over millions of years, mankind has disrupted the natural carbon cycle. We have intensified the natural greenhouse effect and turned it into a planetary menace that is melting our ice caps. In his award-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore (2006) states, “human activities, if unchecked in the next decade, could destroy one of the earth’s principle mechanisms for cooling itself” (p.291). The world needs to address the potentially disastrous consequences of our earth’s rapidly changing climate by acknowledging the existence of global warming and understanding its impact on the present and future generations.
“Two Ways to Belong in America” and “Kung Fu Crew” both articles explain, how racial or ethnic identity is a big part in which you are as a person in America today. As a person in America today with my parents being Latino I grew up with their cultural traditions, their family values and religion. It helps you identify who you are and it also provides you a belief system. No matter where you go in life you will always know that where you grew up at it will always feel like home. Bharati says in her article “I feel some kind of irrational attachment to India that I don’t to America.”(Mukherjee 195) Our parents show us almost everything we believe in when we are kids and it sticks to us for the rest of our lives.

Global warming is the rise in average temperature of Earth’s atmosphere and oceans. If the warming continues it will have drastic effects on our lives in the future. Things such as harsher summers and colder winters will become a reality for future generations. Global warming is real, despite what the naysayers say, and it will affect us in many different ways if we can’t solve this problem. By presenting skeptics arguments about global warming I’ll prove global warming to be real by disproving them.
Climate change is neither new nor unusual. Throughout the history of the earth, the average surface temperature, climate and greenhouse gas concentrations have changed, sometimes gradually other times quite sharply. During the past 10,000 years the earth has been in an interglacial period with a fairly stable climate, surface temperature, and greenhouse gas concentration1. The problem that has arisen in recent times is when scientists analyze the past 150 years, especially the last 50. Scientists have found an increased greenhouse gas concentration, making the 20th century the hottest in the last 10,000 years.
The debate on the issue of Global Warming is fiery hot. There are many skeptics who do not believe in the existence of Global Warming. However, there is validity in the theory that Global Warming is real. The fact is that Global Warming is real and it is here. There is more than enough evidence to assure the existence and the disastrous effects of Global Warming. The Earth and its inhabitants continue to suffer the consequences every day. There are critics which try their hardest to deny the fact that Global Warming is a true issue to be concerned about. However, those skeptics are going to feel the heat eventually, for they are playing with fire.
As we approach the future we are faced with many global problems. Most of these problems arise because we have caused them ourselves. We need to face these problems and find a solution. Global warming, although most often overlooked in importance, is a crucial problem of the future directly related to human activities. Global warming is caused by gases humans release into the atmosphere called anthropogenic gases and by deforestation. Anthropogenic gases include carbon dioxide, methane, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrofl...
Is global warming happening right now, and it is causing climate shifts on the Earth? Scientists are still proving this theory by researching data throughout the world. Though scientists are working hard to verify the theory, all the blame is on us, the consumers. Climate shifts are becoming a problem, and people need to be aware of what consequences may be ahead. People need to know, what can be done by this? Most individuals would not give this topic a second thought, but with the research being done there may be a solution to help our Earth. Opposing viewpoints and arguments are debatable in this case, because everyone has a different opinion but this is how I want to advise people to take caution for the revolutionary weather season. I will be discussing the controversy of global warming, history patterns, greenhouse gases, and the biggest emitters of green house gases; in which, will bring up a few more sub-topics to inform the people on. I support the research being done on global warming and the deep investigation on the effects it may have.
Subpoint A: Not long ago, a documentary film called “An Inconvenient truth” came out in 2006. This film raised international public awareness of climate change and reenergizing the environmental movement. A former U.S Vice president Al Gore campaigned to educate citizens about global warming through a simp...
Global warming extremists voice that man’s factories, automobiles, and industrial activity produce enough carbon dioxide to cause the global temperature to warm. The connection between carbon dioxide and temperature rise is very small. This was proven in the 1960’s and 1970’s when the greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide was on the rise and the global temperature still ended up cooler for the decade (Biley 78). Another aspect to look at is that Earth’s main warming cycle took place before the 1940’s, before 80 percent of man’s carbon emissions were put in the air, which means that the emissions had little impact on the temperature if any (Biley 133). Even more evidence that shows global warming is not caused by man is that at the Oregon Institution of Science and Medicine 17,000 scientists signed a petition that stated there is no evidence of global warming being caused by man’s output of greenhouse gasses (Biley 44). Some may think that global warming is a serious problem on Earth but man should not be to blame over the very little fluctuations of the global temperature caused...
One of the most substantial problems in the world today is global warming. This gradual warming of the earth is in occurrence at an extremely slow rate but it is happening. Many scientists believe that as human’s work and release greenhouse gases into the earth’s atmosphere, it can become dangerous for the long lasting life of humans and our environment. “Unless we take immediate action, the impacts of global warming will continue to intensify, grow ever more costly and damaging, and increasingly affect the entire planet - including you, your community, and your family” (“Global Warming Impacts”). Everyone should be knowledgeable about global warming and the dangers that it brings to our planet. This essay will examine
There is little doubt that the air’s carbon dioxide concentrations have been increasing since the Industrial Revolution and there are few who do not attribute this increase to the rise in humanity’s use of fossil fuels. There is also little dispute that the earth has warmed slightly over the same period. During our interview Adam told me that he believes strongly in the dangers of global warming and feels great animosity towards critics of this theory. Our conversation had an angry tone as Adam explained his hostility towards those who “say that there is no compelling reason to believe that the rise in temperature is caused by the rise in carbon dioxide.” I spent the entirety of the interview trying to explore why Adam exhibited such strong resentment towards global warming's critics and why he felt so passionately about this topic.
The United States releases twenty tons of carbon monoxide per person per year. Carbon Monoxide release is a result of burning fossil fuels with an insufficient amount of oxygen that causes the formation of carbon monoxide that pollutes our environment. Every day fuel is burnt by cars, airplanes, large factories and manufacturing plants. This is causing a very large and deadly problem for our environment. When gases used on earth are released into the atmosphere they act as a blanket and trap radiation that is then redirected to earth. This concept is called the Greenhouse Effect. In this essay I will discuss the greenhouse gasses and their role in global warming.
