Aldridge, A. (1998), Habitus and cultural capital in the field of personal finance. The Sociological Review, 46: 1–23. doi: 10.1111/1467-954X.00087
This article was one that I found rather interesting and think my audience of young adults will find it interesting as well. Although it was an article that focus on research related to personal finance, it did not give general information on how person finance will benefit them and how to better help people manage their money. This article did however give warnings and things to watch out for while managing their money. It helped us understand the cultural significance of personal finance and how all across the world people have different viewpoints on the correct way to manage their money. This article talks about welfare and the audience that participates in these kinds of programs.
I feel that this article can be a useful source in my lesson plan. I feel that the research is reliable and through the data they have collected I feel it is of adequate use to share. One key part of this article that I would want to emphasis in my presentation is that there is risk in regards to investing. You need to make sure you trust your financial service provider and financial adviser, so you don’t end up hurting yourself in the long run regarding your finances. I think this article did a great job at pointing out current events related to the risk of investing, including misselling of personal pensions in the UK and other financial scandals. I feel that giving my audience warning of the scams out there, they will more cautious and less likely to become a victim.

Essay about Connecting Literacy and Popular Culture: Annotated Bibliography

- Popular culture is part of children’s everyday life experiences, embedded in film and news media, cartoons and television programs, in comics, music and advertising (Seiter, 1999; March, 2000 as cited in Ashton, 2005). Yet recognition of popular culture as a valid literacy medium within early childhood contexts continues to be problematic (Ashton, 2005; Shegar & Weninger, 2010; Arthur, 2001). The development of literacy learning begins well before children start school as they engage in literate practices in their homes and communities, allowing them to engage in meaning-making (Arthur, 2001; Ashton, 2005)....   [tags: Annotated Bibliography]

Essay about The Tree it Literary Works: Annotated Bibliography

- I am exploring the embodiment of the chestnut tree by Yeats in “Among School Children.” Yeats becomes gloomy and nostalgic when he is among the children due to his realization that he is significantly aged, and in this poem, he looks to a chestnut tree for wisdom, for an answer. I think that the tree signifies strength, beauty, and resilience. I would like to show how the symbolism of trees is significant and perhaps show that the tree is intimately important to Yeats by showing that the tree signifies unrequited love....   [tags: Annotated Bibliography]
