Today, millions of animals are being tested on for the use of human products, causing them to fall ill and die, leaving them no choice but to be experimented on. Animal abuse can be more than what meets the eye. Specifically, animal testing is a form of animal abuse and usually ends in death of a harmless animal. Some might say that there is no other way to test products, but due to the harm that is done and our advancements in science, animal testing should not be tolerated.
Our advancements in science have enabled us to create other things that we can test on, instead of harming innocent animals. Since experiments are cruel and expensive, “the world’s most forward-thinking scientists have moved on to develop and use methods for studying diseases and testing products that replace animals and are actually relevant to human health” (“Alternatives to Animal”). Science is constantly evolving, and throughout the years, we have extended our research and expanded our knowledge; creating alternatives for animal testing is just one example. Some new options include, “complex tests done on human tissue and cells, computer- modeling techniques, and volunteers for human testing” (“Alternatives to Animal”). With these new ways of testing products and treatment for diseases, we will be able to put less animals at risk for being tested on and would be better overall for costs and reliability. Some might argue that animals are the closest thing biologically to a human, and while that may be true, the animals are still unreliable, and we have invented amazing technology that has allowed us to test many projects and products that do not harm an animal in the process and have better outcomes than testing on an animal. We have made many advances ...

...eriods of physical restraint, the infliction of burns and other wounds to study the healing process, the infliction of pain to study its effects and remedies, and "killing by carbon dioxide asphyxiation, neck-breaking, decapitation, or other means” (Should Animals Be). These tests done on the animals are horrifying and are very brutal and devastating to the animal. So animal testing is not something that should be taken lightly.
Due to the trauma that is forced on the animals and our increased knowledge in science, we should not use animals for the testing of products. Whether it be for makeup, safety features or new cures for diseases. If each time we went shopping and took ten seconds to check if it is cruelty free it could push companies to change how they are making their products. With little changes in our everyday purchases we could end animal testing forever.
