What would you do if someone decided to force you to become their personal experiment? Guys, how would you feel if someone decided to put makeup all over your face? You would not like that, would you? So if you agree that you would not like being a test experiment , why agree to animals being tested? On the other hand, how would you feel if someone sold you a product that has not been tested and could possibly kill you? Is that better than mistreating animals? From doing research, I have found a few pros along with cons to testing animals.
Anyone can pretty much guess what animal testing is, but i will explain just in case. Animal testing, also known as animal experimentation or animal research, refers to experiments carried out on animals to observe the effect of the experimental product or behavior under study. It is used to assess the safety and effectiveness of everything from medication to cosmetics, as well as understanding how the human body works. ...n test tubes or plastic wells and can produce more useful results than testing chemicals on animal skin. Microfluidic chips ("organs on a chip"), which are lined with human cells and recreate the functions of human organs, are in advanced stages of development. Computer models, such as virtual reconstructions of human molecular structures, can predict the toxicity of substances without invasive experiments on animals.
From the research that was gathered, I have discovered many pros along with cons to conclude that animal testing can be benefial or worthless. Animal testing has been around for many years. Animal testing is pretty much conducted anywhere and is used for many different things. There have been many positive outcomes like cures or treatments for illnesses. Although there have been many benefits, the consequences of the animals still is a leading problem.

Animal Testing Should Be Banned Essay example

- ... Pain relievers are not used when they are being killed which means they feel all of the pain. No living creature deserves to be treated as inhumanely as these creatures are treated. Because cosmetic testing is most commonly done on animals, people think it is the only way to have new products safely tested. There are many alternatives to testing on animals. One alternative is growing cells in a lab. “Almost every type of human and animal cell can be grown in the laboratory. Scientists have even managed to coax cells to grow into 3D structures, such as miniature human organs, which can provide a more realistic way to test new therapies.” (crueltyfreeinternational.org, p.1)....   [tags: Animal testing, Testing cosmetics on animals]

Animal Experimentation : Unethical And Strongly Against Animal Rights Essay

- Animal Experimentation The use of animals in laboratory experimentation is unethical and strongly against animal rights. The experiments are severely graphic and painful, even for the smallest of tests. “Huntingdon Life Sciences is one of Europe 's biggest testers of animals. Animal Testing Essay

- So the next big question is, isn’t animal testing essential. Doesn’t it cure disease and save human lives. Well the answer is no. Animal Testing in Scientific Research Essay

- Animal Testing in Scientific Research Animal testing has been going on since the late nineteenth century. Over the years, billions of animals have been killed from experiments, but the amount of animals tested on has fallen 50% since 1968 and in 1998 reached a 40 year low of only 2.66 million procedures. With that much of a decline, I can’t imagine how many animals were once used and for what purposes. Even with the 50% decline, the number of animals sacrificed for medical and biomedical ends in the United States each year is unknown, but certainly exceeds 60 million and may possibly be as high as 100 million....   [tags: Animal Testing]
