Animal Cruelty
It is difficult to believe how some humans are capable of inflicting pain to animals just to satisfy their lowest instincts or for money. The way people treat animals all over the world may defers from one place to another, but in general more people are standing up for animal rights in hopes that one day animal cruelty will be no more. However, this is not a perfect world, and animals, domesticated and wild, are abuse and beaten every single day. For example, dog fighting which is described as “The act of baiting two dogs against one another for entertainment or gain” (Yilmaz, Coskun, and Ertugrul). It is just a horrific and devastating experience that no dog should ever have to go through, “animals have been and continued to be used for fighting by some mentally abnormal people” (Yilmaz, Coskun, and Ertugrul). Society should be question about what had be done to protect animals’ rights and if the punishment for such acts are severe enough.
In the United States, dog fighting is spreading faster all over the country. It is disturbing to learn the way dog fights happen day after day and maybe in front of our eyes but we are not really paying attention. Some fights happen in alleys, other in secluded locations but the way it happens is the same. Both animals are place in a pen and force to fight until one loses or more likely to the death. This type of entertainment a tracks and promotes violence not only to animals is liked to other crimes as domestic abuse or child abuse. This brutal individuals capable of abusing their animals should be persecuted has hard-core criminals by the court system and not given them light sentences that in some cases money can buy their freedom.

In addition, the Education Network, a group that includes experts on animal abuse, elder abuse, child abuse, and domestic violence, said, “We are reaching out to judges and others to spread the word about the connection between animal cruelty and other forms of violence” (Thornton). As a modern society we the people are responsible for the wellbeing of all living creatures in the planet and for the planet it self.
