Animals around the world are being taken out of their natural habitats, being breaded and fed antibiotics. Cruelty among the animals range from puppy mills, zoos, factory farms, and many more. People who hurt animals may not even know they’re doing harm to them, but animals are dying all around us. According to Désirée Achollo of People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), families that adopt rabbits, goldfish, and hermit crabs don’t take good enough care of the animals and the animals end up in the garbage (February 2010 n.p). Animal Cruelty is happening all around us through the mistreatment of dolphins, puppies, exotic animals, cows, and many more.
Are dolphins dealing with animal cruelty? The answer is yes. Dolphins are being captured and put into theme parks and aquariums, and used in the swim with dolphins programs. Normally they live in compound worlds, and travel in social groups. Dolphins swim 100 miles with their family each day. The mortality rate among dolphins is very high and most dolphins become ill from contaminated water and stress related ulcers. Jennifer O’Connor said. “Ric O’Barry, a famous dolphin trainer, quit capturing dolphins after the death of Flipper.” It was said that Flipper died from stress and depression. Dolphins are a big part of our world, but there not the only animals dealing with this cruelty.
Unlike the gigantic animals in the ocean the rodents of the land are being harmed. Texas was raided in an exotic animal deliver company. Snakes stare, there are dead rodents, and hundreds of reptiles were shipped in crates.
