My friend lent me the book Study Manual for the Teas of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Version V. I read, mostly skimmed the book three weeks before the exam. I took some practice tests online, and passed all of them. I thought that I was doing great, and that I will surely pass the exam. In addition, I studied, and answered the practice problems provided by the book. I was very confident at that time. However, on the day of the exam, I suddenly felt uneasy. There were lots of thing going on in my mind: “I need to pass this test,” “This is the only thing that I need to apply for the Nursing Program,” “What am I going to do if I don’t pass this test.” I arrived at the testing site 30 minutes early. When I tried to review the book that I brought, nothing seemed to be entering my mind. My anxiety has defeated me. I didn’t pass the minimum score for the Reading area. I really wanted to apply for the Nursing Program. So on January 23, I took the exam again. I only had two weeks to ‘correct’ my mistake; focusing on the Reading area. This time, the pressure, stress, and anxiety hit me. I only had one week left to apply. Yet again, my anxiety has defeated me. I was hopeless at that time, but I told myself to stand up, and change my strategy. This class became a way for me to develop the skills that I …show more content…
There are several sites online where you can buy this book. You must study the whole book, because the exam is based entirely from it. Furthermore, you will get a glimpse of how the exam is going to be organized by reading the “Introduction” section of the book. As far as I can remember, the exam is exactly like the table shown on the introduction page: the first 19 questions were about “Paragraph and Passage Comprehension,” the last 23 questions were about “Informational Source Comprehension,” and so on. If you want to know how other students studied for this exam, I recommend you to watch their videos. Watching their videos made me feel at ease because it made me feel like I am not the only one going through this; some of them had to retake their exams. When you become familiar with the organization of the exam, manage your time
Rid of Standardized Testing"). On the contrary, a Seattle publication states that standardized testing is the "only legitimate indicator of how well schools are doing and offer an in-depth snapshot of students' academic progress" ("What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Achievement Tests?"). The argument about whether or not standardized testing accurately measures a student's performance continues to be debated. In this paper, I would like to argue that standardized testing does not accurately
implementation of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) occurs after a student is eligible to receive exceptional student services through a referral and evaluation process. In order to maximize academic success, the IEP must be implemented with fidelity following a systematic approach to skills while meeting the needs of the student. The Value of Standardized Testing “It’s test day, kids and today’s test will cover only everything we have learned all semester.” is what the average student hears and understands on the morning of the dreaded exam, having their jaw dropped on the teacher’s emphasis on the “only everything” part of her sentence. While the teacher is handing out the exam papers, the students persist and force themselves to keep their eyes open, as a result of them cramming information into their heads until 2 am the
Standardize testing is the concept in which test scores are imagined as essential for addressing and understanding shortcomings related to educational system within America. In 2001, “The No Child Left behind Act” had initiated the foremost annual requirement of standardized testing on nationwide basis. The test was made compulsory for the students from class 3 to 8. The law of standardized testing got expired officially in 2007 and no legislative or little momentum exists to make its reauthorization

The chair of the UK Government had a test made to see the ability to think in “divergent or non-linear ways” between the ages 3- 25. Out of 1,600 children aged three to five showed that 98% of them can think divergent. Out of the same number of kids age’s eight to ten, 32% could think divergently. When the same test was applied to 13-15 year olds, 10% could
from people to motivate themselves and others to perform their best, daily. This is often used in an academic school setting, seeing as how the quote is centered all around learning and knowledge. Now that I am at the end of my high school, and my required educational learning, these words hold more truth than they could 've in the past. The one class in my final moments of my high school academic year that I believe I have grown the most from in multiple forms, is English Literature with Dr. Tim
geography’s role is to assist the employment selection process. The curriculum for doing this is by assessing students through tests and examinations. The education of geography emphasises skills such as literacy and some subject specific skills such as graphicacy, surveying and cartography.

Standardized testing not only tests the students, but also the teachers' ability to teach the students, which always isn’t fair to the teacher because students cannot be used reliably to judge educators.
