Caitlyn Jenner was born as William Bruce Jenner on October 28, 1949 and was born to William Hugh and Esther R. Jenner. William and Esther also had three other children Pam, Lisa and Burt. Unable to find out much on Bruce during the first stage of life according to Erickson’s stages of psychosocial development which was trust vs. mistrust. Do know that Bruce’s mother stayed home with the children. Bruce’s father was home every night and the family had dinner together. They all attended church every Sunday and would have family vacations. During the second stage which was autonomy vs shame and doubt Bruce did say in an interview on 20/20 with Diane Sawyer that he felt there was something different with him since he was very young. I am assuming it may have started during this stage. Bruce’s father when he was around this age use to call him bruiser because he was so active. During the third stage which was initiative vs. guilt. Bruce was wondering why he was feeling that something was missing in his life. Bruce when he was around this age felt always like he didn’t fit in. Bruce would spend a lot of time alone really did not like talking to other children. During the four stage which was industry vs. inferiority. In this stage Bruce was diagnosed with dyslexia. Also during this stage when Bruce was in Second grade he was held back to repeat the second grade again. This is the age around 8 or 9 Bruce went into his sister’s closet and got out a dress and when he took out the dress he marked the spot so he could put it back away fast in case someone was coming and that no one would know it was out of place. Then he went into his mother’s room and got out a scarf so he could put it on his head because he had short ha... ... middle of paper ... ...s gone through. At times I cried knowing that maybe there is more to this transgender group of people. There are over 700,000 people going through transgender. One doctor said that sexual desire is who you go to bed with and gender is who you go to bed as. Transgender doesn’t mean that they are wanting to be with the opposite sex. There are some that go either way. As far as Maslow goes I feel that Caitlyn has gone through The Maslow Hierarchy of needs. She is really trying to help others to be comfortable with the problems they were living with and to feel comfortable about becoming transgender. She is trying to maybe help stop the suicide and murders rates of people that are trying to covert to transgender. I feel people have to let people do what they feel is right for them. I just wish people would leave others alone and worry more about themselves.
