After their wedding feast, close to dawn, Taran and Veerah stumbled into their home. They were not drunk, but exhausted. Taran had not expected to enjoy the long, raucous, well-attended wedding feast as much as he had, but the night was so full of love and emotion, it was impossible to remain unaffected.

The strength of his orgasm took his breath away and left him limp and panting. Taran did not possess the strength to even open his eyes.
Veerah climbed off him and rested beside him. He summoned the strength to cover them with their blanket, but his eyes remained closed.
“I’ve died, Veerah. I have actually died.”
“Please don’t say that. I’d planned to enjoy your body for another ten or twenty years.”
Taran laughed and pulled her against his chest, kissing the top of her head and breathing in the clean smell of her heather-scented hair. It was incredible to think their journey through life together had only begun.
