“SHHHH…!”
Harper awoke to the sound of hushed giggles in the dorm. In the moonlight she could see that the older girls across the room were dressed like they were about to go dancing with boys.
Harper squinted her eyes as they opened the door and the harsh light from the hallway flooded in.
She looked over at Saskia’s bed. Saskia had turned away from the door with the covers pulled up over her, she was either asleep or pretending to be. Harper suspected she was pretending.
The girls let out a final “SHHH…” as they quietly pulled the door to and tiptoed off down the hallway.
Harper looked at the big clock on the wall. In the moonlight from the window, she could see both the big hand and the little hand pointing to 12. It was midnight. Where were they going?
Harper had known one or two girls from that group sneak out before but never this late and never all four of them together.
Harper wondered what made them so excited as she found herself pulling on her sneakers and venturing over towards the partially open door. The girls hadn’t shut it properly and the bright light was flooding in through the crack and hurting Harper’s eyes.
As she put her hand on the door to close it Harper could hear noise on the stairwell coming from the boys’ dorm on the second floor.
Harper looked again at Saskia who was very definitely pretending to be asleep. There was no way she hadn’t heard that racket.
Harper understood Saskia wanted to be left alone after the Director told her she couldn’t be a Warden any more.
Joe said that Saskia had been demoted back down to the rank of an ‘ordinary inmate’ and she was just the same as everyone else now.

Suddenly realizing she was cold, wet, in excruciating pain and that her pajama’s were so heavy with rainwater she could barely move, Harper slowly passed out in the back of the taxi shivering as she wondered what Saskia would make of all this.

After reading the directions and topic for this paper, I was extremely eager to get started. Adolescence is a stage of life that is very critical for a person. Speaking from my own experience, I know that the teenage years are a difficult part of life and during these years, one experiences a rollercoaster of different emotions, obstacles, and decision-making. For my final essay, I have chosen the movie “Fatal Attraction”, and I will focus on Alex Forrest and her mental disorder. Borderline Personality was displayed in the movie and Alex had almost every symptom of this disorder. It is impossible to talk about a Wes Anderson movie without acknowledging its stunning color palettes and quirky storytelling style. In one of his most exemplary works, Moonrise Kingdom, Anderson uses a warm color scheme that blends bright and desaturated colors that ranges from golden yellow, vermillion red, creamy beige, light brown, to even a hint of teal. His color scheme, which is reflected throughout the film’s props, sets, costumes, title design, and camera filters, effectively evokes nostalgia, establishes the summer-like, dreamy mood of the film, and creates a distinct contrast between the different moral values of his characters. However, in the chaotic stormy escape scene and in the costume of Social Services, the visual design deviates greatly from the film’s primarily warm color palette and instead, immerse their visual elements in a deep, dark blue color to show the contrasts in the mood of the story as well as the attitudes of the characters.
