Electronic Mail (e-mail) Electronic Mail, a means of communication that is growing at a very rapid rate. In this paper, I will write about introduction of e-mail, the advantage and disadvantage of e-mail, mailing lists, sending an e-mail message, sending attachments, e-mail improvement, and security features. Introduction of Electronic Mail Electronic mail (E-mail) has become popular and easy way of communication in this decade. E-mail is a method of sending and receiving document or message from one person to another. E-mail is not only replacement for postal mail and telephones, and also it is a new medium. E-mail send plain text, images, audio, spreadsheets, computer programs can attach to an e-mail message. Using the e-mail, you must have a computer on a network. The computer must require a modem and phone line. Sending and receiving e-mail needs an e-mail program. Every e-mail user requires an e-mail address. This e-mail address is similar to a postal address. E-mail address is written as username@domain, for instance, PCLEE@juno.com. The username is used for sending and receiving e-mail. E-mail systems are already widespread around the world within this decade. Nowadays, if you mail a letter to your friend who is thousand miles away from you, how long would you expect your friend will receive it? Normally, by using the traditional postal system, it might need one to two weeks to transport the letter. However, e-mail system can handle this task by only a minute or ev...

With the great inventions in our hands more people have started to use electronic messages actively. As the manufacture, science, and techonology developement shoot up to the sky, the United States postal Service (USPS) watched people forgetting how to write “real” letter (Doc F). While the world transform with new generation and definition of “real” USPS gling onto the history and bases.
The united states postal service has helped the universe communicate from sending a “get well” card to paying bills. However, as great as this system has been to society times have changed, card that take two days now have transformed to a new way of technology that takes up to minutes even seconds to send. It is crucial for the USPS to accommodate it’s system to modern technology.
My grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins live in Ireland leaving oceans and expensive air fare separating us. Through pictures, stories, letters, and phone calls I have come to know the history of my family, what brought my mother to this country, and what a life in Ireland is like. However, over time these forms of communication were not strong and consistent enough to enable me to build an emotional connection and relationship with specific members of my family. I mainly just heard my mother’s point of view and got to know my family through her experiences with them. That was before the invention of electronic mail, a faster, cheaper outlet for communication that can reach anyone in the world who has access to the World Wide Web. Without technology, cyber space, and e-mail I would have very little communication and understanding of my family in Ireland.
The speed in which the mail is transported is an important factor in sending mail by either E-mail or the postal system. E-mail easily has the leading edge in this field. With a click of a button, a message can be sent and received in a few seconds to several minutes. Whether you are sending E-mail to someone next door or across the world, the time it takes to send the message is usually the same. Data files can be easily sent to someone over E-mail; unfortunately, the larger the file is in size, the longer it will take to send and receive the E-mail. Data files can be mailed to people using the postal system if the data is copied to a floppy disk or a compact disc. The postal service can send any kind of package, from a simple letter to a computer, for a price depending on its size weight, and desired shipping speed. The speed of the postal service is a problem though. A single letter can ta...
Electronic mail (email), which is one component of the Internet, approximates person to person letters, memoranda, notes and even phone calls.
As a society, we hold dear the value of privacy and confidentiality as a basic fundamental right. Access to the new technology of electronic mail can jeopardize both values.
Many businesses at the very least are taking advantage of the current technology to implement email systems. Email systems, in addition to traditional methods of communication including telephones, voice mail and face-to-face interactions are increasing the ease of communication between people in an organization. Through the use of email, people are able to send messages on a one-to-one basis, or to send broadcast messages to an entire organization, or to send messages to a specific group or department.
Email is quite possibly the most important computer application ever created. Even the most primitive of computer systems comes with access to email. The most novice computer users know how to send and receive email and the slowest Internet provider will get a user to an email server. As the first major computer application, email is a huge part of daily life, communicating between students and teachers, doctors and patients. It can travel across offices, cities, countries, even over oceans. As the inventor of email, Raymond Tomlinson has significantly affected life for all those living in the 20th and 21st centuries and therefore should be remembered and written about just as much as any other major inventor in past history.
The user base of the Internet and World Wide Web grows by millions of users each year. In recent years this has created an explosion in the number of Internet email accounts and addresses. Companies such as Microsoft, Yahoo and Netscape have made free email accounts available for the world to use. Many people have multiple email accounts on the web, in addition to those that they may have for business purposes.
Even the message is not send in a real time platform and it is a delay-tolerant application, it still preferred application because this is the only means of sending a letter in the cheapest way, fast, flexible and reliable. Other the advantages of email is the ability to store the email messages in electronic mailboxes until the recipient fetches them and have a notification to the recipient when new mail is received. The e-mail technology is growing rapidly with the advent of m...
Harris, David. “Electronic Mail Etiquette.” School of Computing. 1997. Queens University 14 July 2003 .
Communication is important in life. Companies need to communicate with other companies and customers. The managers also need to communicate with the staff. The technology provides us with many means of communication, the most important of which is e-mail.
A popular way that people share information is E-mail. The first E-mail was sent in 1971. It was sent between two computers, that were sitting beside each other in the same room, and said “qwertyuiop” (Arandilla, 2011). While the meaning of this message has been lost over time, E-mail has become increasingly popular throughout the years. G-mail, an online email site created by Google, has over 45 million accounts.
Using the internet to send email is now common place within the business world. There are 144.8 billion emails sent daily around the globe, but only 14% of these are deemed important (2012, mashable.com). Text based documents can be sent instantly within an organisation or to a company on the other side of the globe. This is much quicker than posting it in the letter box and waiting for return mail. Thes...
