How Does Elizabeth Bennet Affect The Character In Pride And Prejudice

During the story of Pride and Prejudice, the main character, Elizabeth Bennet, is involved in many changing relationships that affect the portrayal of her character. The main focus of the book is how Elizabeth's mother desperately wants her five daughters to marry into wealth. The first relationship that Elizabeth becomes involved in is with the new neighbor, Mr. Darcy, a man who earns a strong living of over 5,000 a year and comes from a higher social class than the Bennets. Elizabeth's first impression of Mr. Darcy becomes ruined after they meet, and they immediately experience tension. The second man that Elizabeth becomes involved with is a militia man named Wickham. Elizabeth's first impression of Wickham is different from that of Darcy.

Elizabeth’s first impression of Wickham is a little different than that of Darcy. She begins to grow fond of Wickham and even less fond of Darcy. Many factors contribute to this, including the fact that Wickham slanders Darcy’s reputation a bit. However, things take a turn when Darcy confesses his love for Elizabeth and proposes to her. She denies him, throwing Darcy into a rage. Darcy and Elizabeth begin to separate and become strangers as the story progresses. Elizabeth spends more time with Wickham instead of Darcy. However, Elizabeth uncovers some holes in Wickham's claims about Darcy, and eventually, Darcy and Elizabeth cross paths once again. Elizabeth starts to realize how wrong she had been about Darcy. It shows how much Lizzy matures and grows as a character, and she and Darcy fall in love. Elizabeth’s view of Wickham and Darcy completely changes from the start of the story to the end. At the end of the book, Elizabeth becomes a less stubborn and judgmental character.
