Matthew 20:1-16 is the passage of the Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard. This is one of the most renowned and important parables in the Bible. The reason being, is because this parable speaks of how God’s grace works through salvation. This is a concept that Christians who have been walking in their faith for an extensive or a short period of time need to comprehend. These are scenarios of the first and the last people hired by the householder in the parable.

This parable describes how God’s grace works through salvation. God was represented by the householder and born again Christians are represented by the workers. Acceptance into heaven was represented by the pay the workers received from working. The first person hired represents a person who by God’s grace was saved earlier in their life. When this person was saved, they immediately started doing God’s will. They started to work at God’s calling for them. They also began to learn and developed their divine design. This person followed and worked for God’s will all their life. At the end of this person’s life, their spirit goes on trial to see if they go to heaven or hell. This person is near the end of their lifetime and they finally accept Jesus as their savior and King. This person might of done some of God’s will and work towards their calling before they passed away or they just accepted Jesus Christ right before they passed away. Then they go up to heaven and they are on trial to see if they go to heaven or hell. Then Jesus says that their name is in the Lamb’s Book of Life and they are let in the gates of heaven. These two workers are similar in multiple ways. They both worked in the vineyard, which means that they both accepted Jesus as their savior. Also both workers got paid after working to the end of the day which means they both went into heaven after they passed away.
There are some major differences. The first one is the person who got hired first worked longer than the person who got hired only for one hour. Along with that, even though the two people did not work the same length of time, they both got rewarded the same amount and that is the meaning of this

Sacrifices, though often difficult to make, can be ultimately be beneficial. Whether that sacrifice be a job, a person, a lifestyle, or a way of thinking, it can better the lives of everyone involved. A great example of this fact lies in John Steinbeck’s novel The Grapes of Wrath when a preacher named Jim Casy sacrifices his position after he has self-proclaimed “sinful ideas”, which he soon discovers to be more sensible and even applicable to his life, and moreover the entire work. When Jim Casy sacrificed his position as a preacher, and, with that, his past values, he opened his mind to accept profound ideas regarding holiness, togetherness, and revolution which ultimately prove to be the themes of the novel as a whole.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for his good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (ESV)
In 1822, a group of Boston merchants and traders began their campaign to transform a riverbank below the thirty-foot falls of the Merrimack River into "the greatest textile manufacturing establishment in the country." These capitalists dug and improved the Merrimack canal, constructed machine shops, and built housing for mill executives, foremen and operatives. The cotton mills of Lowell, Massachusetts, and other New England sites began to employ the first female industrial labor force in the United States. Almost twenty years later, factory workers wrote and edited the Lowell Offering, a literary magazine showcasing the virtues and talents of the female operatives in verse, essays and short fiction (Eisler, 13-22).
Yet, another way is very similar to the first. It also involves the Church, but in a different way. The other way was about the church as a group, while this way of explaination talks about the church as being filled with many individuals. Each tempest-tossed individual who has a storm of his own, has a Heavenly Father who comes and rescues the wind-driven soul when the Lord sees fit. One way to describe this passage is to say that Christ will save any individual that cries out in the middle of a terrible tempest.2

I guess today is another thrilling day, and this morning I wake up at 4 o’clock in the morning to get ready to work by 5 am. My brother Thorn and I walked there and we were a bit late today. And I didn’t even have any breakfast. Once we got there, we started to work immediately. Then someone stared at me. It was the man in the uniform. He yelled at me just because I whispered to the other person sitting next to me then I saw some kids playing in the street and I felt very disappointed and jealous. Why I can’t go out side and play in the street like these kids but I guess that’s part of life. We usually get two breaks during the day, Lunch and dinner. But today I didn’t get any break. And I have to work straight though it. I’m starving and my hands are very sore. I usually have to work 14 hours a day but since Thomas Edison invented the light bulb I only have to work for 10 hours. And finally my work is done and it’s 5pm. My wage is 20 cents a day but most of the boys who are younger than me get 25cent per day or even 30cents per day. I don’t know why but my parents say that I have to work or we have to live on the streets
In the late 1700’s and early 1800’s big business began to boom. For the first time companies were developing large factories to manufacture their goods. Due to the new mechanics and cheap labor, factory owners could now produce their goods at a cheaper rate. Jesus was a phenomenal communicator. In fact, Jesus was the greatest communicator to ever live. He used strategies and techniques that were previously unheard of to get his point across in any situation, regardless of the circumstances. What is interesting is that his most common form of speaking was in parables. He would use these analogies to provide a way of application for the gospel in people lives. The parable about the workers in the vineyard is one of many, but is one of the few that were only told in the book of Matthew. Although there a many assumptions as to the reasoning for this, nobody can be sure of the reason why this parable is nowhere to be found in the other gospels. It is especially confusing because in this parable Jesus talks about end times and entrance into heaven; which would have been, and still is, an important subject to any believer.
