Matthew 20:1-16 is the passage of the Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard. This is one of the most renowned and important parables in the Bible. The reason being, is because this parable speaks of how God’s grace works through salvation. This is a concept that Christians who have been walking in their faith for an extensive or a short period of time need to comprehend. These are scenarios of the first and the last people hired by the householder in the parable.

This parable describes how God’s grace works through salvation. God was represented by the householder and born again Christians are represented by the workers. Acceptance into heaven was represented by the pay the workers received from working. The first person hired represents a person who by God’s grace was saved earlier in their life. When this person was saved, they immediately started doing God’s will. They started to work at God’s calling for them. They also began to learn and developed their divine design. This person followed and worked for God’s will all their life. At the end of this person’s life, their spirit goes on trial to see if they go to heaven or hell. This person is near the end of their lifetime and they finally accept Jesus as their savior and King. This person might of done some of God’s will and work towards their calling before they passed away or they just accepted Jesus Christ right before they passed away. Then they go up to heaven and they are on trial to see if they go to heaven or hell. Then Jesus says that their name is in the Lamb’s Book of Life and they are let in the gates of heaven. These two workers are similar in multiple ways. They both worked in the vineyard, which means that they both accepted Jesus as their savior. Also both workers got paid after working to the end of the day which means they both went into heaven after they passed away.
There are some major differences. The first one is the person who got hired first worked longer than the person who got hired only for one hour. Along with that, even though the two people did not work the same length of time, they both got rewarded the same amount and that is the meaning of this
