Hamlet is a novel talking about a young boy losing his father (which is the king) in a tragic death in soon finds out that his father wasn 't killed by natural death he was murdered by his uncle which is his stepfather now. Stephen Greenblatt describes the story in 4 figures: figure of full summarize, figure of history nightmares, deep psychic disturbance, and figure theatre. In the following passage we will find out about these 4 figures and how they shape the story. For example figure of appearance tells us how hamlet talk to himself and if he knows if the ghost is real or not or if it is a part of his illusion. Figure figure of theater is a major theme in circles the play Hamlet it shows distinguish between what is fake and what is real for example when Hamlet tries to act like he 's gone insane (mad) in front of others so that he can get his true intentions and gain his opportunity to kill Claudius. Though hamlet shows exclusive hatred towards Ophelia so that he may convince Polonius and Claudius that he has gone mad due to Ophelia 's rejection of his love. But on the other hand there 's Claudius the most cowardly and convincing politician. Claudius in the comparison to the rest of the characters in the play is the mastermind of the deception. Play ideas hides behind a caring king for his dead brother who cares for his people in a particular his stepson however in reality Claudius conceals a very dark secret infuse Hamlet 's apparent madness is not because of Hamlets well-being but his own secret to be revealed. Glad you sends Polonius, Rosencrantz, and Guildenstern to spy on Hamlet to try to figure out the true meaning of his insanity. Stefan Greenblatt wrote about how Hamlet acted like he was mad to show others just to get what he wanted, revenge for his father 's death from his uncle (theatre). It also showed how the ghost feared to be alone all eternity in purgatory and he reached out to his son Hamlet help him be at peace. As read it shows at Hamlet and his mother doesn 't come out of this with a happy ending it turns out they both die and be at peace. Stefan Greenbelt tries to show us not everything could have a happy ending sometimes it doesn 't end well for everybody. thank
