Daily Cola “raises cancer risk” due to caramel coloring When it comes to soft drinks such as Coke, Sprite, and Diets Cokes, people tent to not to read what the drink is made of. These particular drinks contain a popular chemical product, which is called 4-methylimidazole (4-Mel). This chemical product gives soft drinks the caramel coloring. This chemical product produces a carcinogen, which is known as (4-Mel). If we go deep, there are no federal regulations that restrict the use of this risky product. However Americans from all ages consume soft drinks in the daily basis; the thing is how many people don’t realize the damage this chemical can cause, produce in their bodies, such as elevating their cancer risk. Growing up, my family used to buy a lot of cokes, sprites and Fanta, because they were always busy working. My family didn’t have the time to buy or make natural juices, even thought I was a little kid, I knew how these soft drinks were killing us. If my family and I kept drinking soft drinks instead of water or natural juices, we would have increased the chances of cancer risks. When I grew up I started taking care of myself, and started making good choices for my health. When I stopped drinking that kind of drinks, I noticed how my body started changing in a positive and healthy way. Before I couldn’t even walk or run for a mile without feeling dizzy or in pain, now I can run for 3 miles with no pain or dizziness. When I was in high school, I started noticing how adolescents didn’t join any type of activity or sport, because their bodies were not reacting like it suppose to. The lack of exercise and natural drinks made students stop any type of activity. This problem occurred based on how adolescent kept consuming soft drinks every day.
