As my wife and I were pondering about how to meet our financial goals, we started thinking about which businesses we would love to be a part of and Chick-fil-a stood out way above any other. So I told my wife that I would look into Chick-fil-a’s franchise opportunity and I went to the website and learned some more about the company and saw that it would be a great company to be a part of. Especially after finding out the cost to startup. We don 't believe a person should go into great amount of debt to start a business. After letting my wife know what I found, we decided to start the application process online. Since my father remained in Haiti while we made our home here in the states, by the time I was in my late teens I soon realized that I was the leader of my family. The apartment complex where we lived was increasingly becoming unsafe and it was very clear that I had to move us out of that environment into a safer one. I worked hard and saved up and when I was 23 years old I was fortunate enough to have my first major accomplishment by purchasing my own house where I moved in my mother, my 3 sisters, my younger brother, and occasionally my father. It made me feel good that I could provide a safer living environment for my entire family. The next major accomplishment came about seven years later when I was able to pay off the mortgage of that home and became debt free! Being debt free was an amazing feeling! Unfortunately, it was a bittersweet moment because around that time the devastating earthquake in Haiti had taken place on January 12th of 2010. I still had a lot of family there; My aunt and cousins. Thankfully they were able to escape their home before it crumbled. About ten years prior to the earthquake my mother had... ... middle of paper ... ...yself. Because of that opportunity I have worked hard and made a career for myself where I 'm now the senior mechanical designer for a company in the Oil and Gas industry. Because of opportunities given to me in the past I want to be able to do the same for others through owning/operating a Chick-fil-a restaurant. I want to be a very successful operator/owner. I want to out sell any other restaurants in my area. If given an opportunity to be an operator of a Chick-fil-a I would work hard to make my restaurant the first choice customers would choose for great tasting food, and the best customer service they have ever received. I have been to and observed many different Chick-fil-a’s and how they meet the challenges they face when serving a lot of customers and I want to be a part of that. I want to participate in the continuing success of Chick-fil-a.
In 1946 two brothers, Ben and Truitt Cathy, opened a diner in Atlanta Georgia called the Dwarf House Grill. The Dwarf House served a variety of typical grill food that included everything from burgers to hot dogs. All of that changed in 1961 when a poultry supplier stopped buy and sold Mr. Cathy chicken breast that were too large for the trays that they typically cooked the chicken on. Truitt Cathy decided that he did not want to throw out the chicken so he breaded the chicken and put it in the pressure fryer. He realized that he could cook the chicken in the same amount of time that it took to cook a hamburger and it tasted great. He had hamburger buns and pickles in the restaurant already and this is how the first chicken sandwich was made. In 1967 the first Chick-Fil-A store was opened in Atlanta’s Greenbrier Shopping Center and in 1986 the first freestanding franchise was opened. Today there are more than one thousand seven hundred Chick-Fil-A restaurants in thirty nine states. One of the ways that Chick-Fil-A has been able to make their company a success is through their unique approach to customer service. They are able to provide excellent customer service by turning individuals into team players. Teams can be seen in the hiring process, community involvement, national sponsorship, knowing what customers want, and cooperate culture. All of these different teams lead to excellence in customer service.
Eating at a restaurant that smells or looks filthy can be disturbing. Many other fast food chains don’t prioritize cleanliness, but Chick-fil-A goes above and beyond requirements in regards to a sanitary eating environment. Experiencing good food in a clean atmosphere is essential to the customer’s experience at a restaurant. If you want to enjoy your food in a clean eating area, then Chick-fil-A restaurants are sure to provide that. Another way Chick-fil-A brings the ultimate customer experience is having employees greet customers with smiles as if they appreciate their presence and choice of
Chick-fil-A as a company cares deeply about their customers experience with the company. Chick-fil-A also wants to hear what its customers have to say through an open door policy. Chick-fil-A achieves this goal by allowing customers to freely right their reviews and thoughts on Chick-fil-A’s website. Overall, this program has been very successful and beneficial for both the customer and Chick-fil-A. Chick-fil-A has received a lot of positive feedback and has been able to improve their company because of the
Each organization big or small has its own values, ways of doing things and assumption that it operates in. The principles and ethics that exist in each of these companies are the baseline through which the company operates its affairs. This is what can be called as that organization’s culture. The culture in existence has an impact on the productivity, effectiveness and efficiency (Keyton, 2011). The basis of setting the most appropriate culture of a company is not only to move or increase the profitability but also to make the stakeholders happy and satisfied. One aspect of that is the employee or the human resource the firm who put their expertise in the firm and add a bit of creativity and innovativeness to move the products. Chick-Fil-A operates in a competitive industry thus it requires all the stakeholders.
Did you know Panera Bread is one of the fastest growing franchises in America (Panera Bread Franchise)? The restaurant must have great qualities for people of all kinds to love it as much as they do. Visiting Panera Bread I had an awesome experience mainly because of its physical environment. Panera Bread has a great environment which is ideal for encouraging consistent business.
In the year 1946 Truett Cathy opened his first restaurant the Dwarf Grill in Hapeville, Georgia. A few years later the restaurant would undergo a name change to the Dwarf House. The Dwarf House got its name from the size of its door and how customers were treated, since it was a family run business everyone was treated like family. This fine establishment was credited with creating Chick-fil-A’s original chicken sandwich. The story behind this accreditation is that Mr. Cathy himself had ordered chicken breast for the Dwarf House but he deemed them too big to be served as airline food. A few years later in 1964 Cathy founded the restaurant that we all know today as Chick-fil-A. This new restaurant steadily started to make a significant impact on the fast food industry and it continues each and every year. For example, as of today Chick-fil-A stretches across at least 42 states with approximately 1900 restaurants. In 2014 Chick-fil-A numbers came up shorter than projected and this was because Truett and his son Dan Cathy (CEO of Chick-fil-A) took a public stance on the whole equal rights discussion. They were against it because of their Southern Baptist background, the two decided not to condone business with those of the LGBT community. The LGBT community decided to respond
As I grew older, between the transition of a child to a teenager, I learned more about my family, its culture and background, and even some back story about how they came to the United States to the first place. Back at home, my parents are certainly not home for long and everyday we weren't
Chick-fil-A recognizes that their brand promise starts the minute the customer enters the premises. When a store opens for the first time, the franchised operator doesn’t just see an opportunity to sell his food product, but rather a “chance to interact, build community, and engage with customers and the community at large. We do this in a variety of ways. First and foremost, we strive to provide 2nd Mile Service to each customer. As we work to continuously improve, we want customers to experience something unique. We want to build community and create relationships between our customers and our food, people and restaurants” [3].
In August 2005, at the tender age of 7, I received the most devastating news. I was told by my family that a hurricane was coming to my city, New Orleans, Louisiana. Because of this storm, Hurricane Katrina, I was told that I would most likely have to move away for a long time, meaning the rest of my life. My family and I lost everything, and the hurricane ended up destroying the entire city completely. This was heartbreaking to me for a plethora of reasons, including that I lost loved ones and was separated from the rest of my family at such an early age. This ravaging storm marked the most drastic change of my life.
I had to learn to adjust life without my sibling because my mom did not have enough money for them to be with us and adapt to a new culture. During this my mother and I ended up homeless during the winter months, this was the most brutal and embarrassing time of our life. In my teenage life I have overcome many obstacles; Even though we were living in poverty my mother had high expectation for her children and graduating from high school was just the beginning unfortunately I stumble again, I failed my Math Regent and did not graduate but I was determined not to be discouraged .
Positive motivation allows employees to be happy while working and also be the most effective worker possible. Hourly employees also have the ability to receive a $1,000 scholarship towards further education. This incentive for lower level workers makes everyone feel valued. Fairness is a part of Chick-Fil-A’s organization and brand. The equity theory shows that people are motivated by fairness. This scholarship equals out the playing field and motivates all workers, regardless of their social status and income. Operators will learn important skills, to improve their abilities while enjoying the get a way. The feeling around the organization is that everyone within the organization is family. This family feel makes all employees motivated towards one common purpose; making Chick-Fil-A the best it can be.
I stepped out of a life where I was put through a lot. I've been through foster care, through so many arguments with my family, and I have done a lot of mistakes throughout my life. It made me the confident and strong minded person I am today. I experienced failure many times, but moments like those made me realize that I needed to protect those who are in my shoes and take a step back into my own life and be a leader. It pushed me to learn things I never knew and to be a police officer have showed me these standards. You protect, help, and understand the people in need and I wanna pursue a dream that will come true.
Therefore I think that there are 3 alternatives which can be considered for the future. The first idea that came to my mind is to sell Panera or going join venture with one of the big players in the restaurant industry. Panera has an impressively high market value which is indicated by the goodwill estimation on the balance sheet. By getting together with a major franchising company like McDonalds or Burger King, Panera’s expansion could be supported with a much greater amount of money. The backside of this deal would be that Panera’s executives would lose their controlling power over the company’s operations and would allow the joined company to misuse Panera for own interests and goals. Considering these issues by getting together with another company opens up questions of the necessity of a joint venture which led me to the second alternative. The company should keep up with their strategy of a steady growth model and the production of high quality products. Panera was doing really good in the last couple of years and the fast casual market has a great undeveloped potential for the future. Nevertheless, Panera has to be aware of major franchisers competitors who have the power and willingness to compete with Panera for customers, market share and profits. This major threat may result in a recession of sales in the long run. Panera still does not have the financial strength of McDonalds or a similar major franchiser. My third idea was the opportunity of an international expansion which would allow Panera to become a forerunner in the fast-casual world market. There is nothing similar existing in the European market so far and it might be a great fit to the European culture.
We served best quality food to satisfaction of buyer. Our main weakness is we provide better than other cafe but other competitor in lowest price.
An evaluation of the restaurant’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats served as the foundation for this marketing plan. The plan focuses on the restaurants marketing strategy, suggesting ways in which it can build on new customer relationships, and development of new food products and targeted to specific customer groups.
