If You Don’t Like Reading About The Multiverse There’s A Parallel Universe Where You Love It by Ariel Biederman
With every decision you make, you know there will be some sort of outcome. But how big is that outcome? Bigger than you think. Every time make a choice, an entire universe is created in which you make a different choice. This is called The Many Worlds Interpretation, established by Hugh Everett III, which basically states that multiple branes (each a universe) collide, causing Big Bangs. The universes bounce back and pass through time until they are pulled back, but do not collapse, making each possibility an actuality. This would make every single possibility a reality somewhere sometime.
In contrast to The Many Worlds Interpretation is John Wheelers Anthropic principle, which states that an observer is needed to cause the collapse of a wavefuntion, and not just branes bouncing into each other. A good example of this idea is the experiment of Schrodinger’s cat. In this trial, a cat is put in a sealed box with a flask of poison and radioactive matter. If an internal monitor detects radioactivity (just one atom decaying) the flask will shatter and the poison will kill the cat. This makes the cat simultaneously alive AND dead until you open the box and make an observation.
Another popular thought is string theorist Brian Greene’s 9 types of parallel universes. These 9 types cover each of the different ways parallel universes could exist. The first of the nine is quilted. Quilted universes could only work in an infinite universe. With an infinite amount of space, every possible event will occur and infinite number of times. However, the speed of light prevents us of being aware of these other identical areas. The next ty...

Although there is not proof of any of this information being true, there are still several clues or pieces of evidence that leads some people to believe that parallel universes exist. One example is ghosts and paranormal activity. Some say that ghosts are just from parallel universes that are bleeding into our own. There might even be a realm of the dead! Along with ghosts, dreams could have something to do with parallel universes. It is said that sleep is just a slice of death could dreams be a window to an alternate universe? Déjà vu also could have something to do with the multiverse theory. You may think the person you are meeting for the first time looks familiar, but you can’t put your finger on why. Parallel universe. You can think you’ve done something before already. Parallel universe. Walk into a room and forget why? Parallel universe!
Fiona Broome argues that “these common memories which appear mistaken could be explained by the existence of parallel universe that are able to interact
At a glance, the concept of time travel seems absurd. Yet given some thought, you realise the metaphorical wall between the past, present, and future is smaller than you think. Light travels at a constant velocity of about 300,000 km/s. It is common knowledge that nothing can travel faster than that speed (as I will prove later on) and therefore because your eyes are sensitive to visible light – everything you see is a light wave in some form. Because of this finite velocity of light, if we observe a star, say Alpha Centauri 4 – which is 4 light years away – we do not see it as it looks today, but as it looked 4 years ago! If you look at the Andromeda Galaxy – 2 million light years away – you see it as it appeared 2 million years ago. Just as when you look at yourself in a mirror – 1.5 metres away – the image you see of yourself is not you now, but you 10 nanoseconds ago (0.00000001s)2. In other words, you look into the past every moment of your life.
For as long as they have existed, humans have had ideas about what the universe holds. Through the millennia they have come to know quite a bit about what is out there, yet the universe is so vast, the greatest human minds have not been able to find everything. However, thanks to a relatively new theory called panpsychism, there may just be an answer. David J Chalmers, an Australian philosopher and cognitive scientist, has written a research paper titled, “Panpsychism and Panportopsychism,” that may allow some more understanding on what really is out there, through his use of ethos, logos, and diction.
Moore’s “Proof of an External World” is based on the fact that he has two hands. Moore’s argument for the existence of these hands is as follows:
Leibniz (1686), for example, argued that only physical events could cause physical events and only mental events could cause mental events. Fortunately, he thought, God has arranged physical events and mental events into a pre-established harmony so that given sequences of mental and physical events unfailingly accompany each other ("parallelism"). Co...
“All manner of nonphysical phenomena may coexist with [physical phenomena], even to the extent of sharing the same space-time, provided only that the nonphysical phenomena are entirely inefficacious with respect to the physical phenomena.” (p. 24)
...onditions: Since God is all-knowing, the multiverse can exist within God’s omniscience. God is not all-controlling, this allows mankind to have free will. The multiverse exist though human choices. My initial proposal to the argument of free will and omniscient was relied on necessary true, and this coincided with Nelson Pike’s explanation. This eventually leads to a fatalistic view that concludes no human actions are voluntary if one is believing in God. Although, my second proposition is not supported Pike’s essay, but it is inspired by Boethius’ theory of human free will, which based on the condition necessity. Combine with the idea of the multiverse, this allows human to have free while still within the boundary of God’s omniscience. We are living in an age of constant changes, and new hypothesis will develop as we gain more knowledge on the ultimate reality.
Its ontological status is improbable. There is a possibility of similar events occurring in our reality but it’s very unlikely to happen. According to Ryan, a literary scholar and critic, the basis of the theory of possible worlds is that the conceivable reality is actually a universe that consists of a number of worlds organized hierarchically with one element that occupies the center of the structure. “The foundation of PW theory is the idea that reality—conceived as the sum of the imaginable rather than as the sum of what exists physically—is a universe composed of a plurality of distinct worlds. This universe is hierarchically structured by the opposition of one element, which functions as the center of the system, to all the other members of the set (Ryan
As the scale of the event drops though, so do chances of a synchronized events on two worlds. For example, an event as global and impactful as the fall of the Soviet Union very likely occurs in the same way it does on another world. Additionally, the outcome of a Presidential election could still occur, but the likelihood of this decreases. Sports championships, state or city elections, and eventually small, insignificant events sequentially decrease in the same way. As such, one would not expect the daily activities to match on both worlds. Yet, at the same time, the unimportance of these events allows for the possibility of these mirrored events. In other words, regardless of who wins the Presidential election, one still may cook spaghetti at the same time on both worlds. After all, déjà vu generally occurs during unimportant events,

The simulated reality hypothesis is a simple idea that says that we, and everything in the known universe, is currently living inside a computer simulation. This idea has been talked about by philosophers for centuries and even has some ties to religion. Sci-fi writers have been writing about simulated reality for years and we have seen it visualised on tv shows yet the idea that we may be living inside of a computer simulation is almost unknown to most people.
Parallel universes have long been suspected because of the "Many-Worlds" theory, and several other plausible theories that have come from it. The most famous besides the Many-Worlds theory is the String Theory. This radical theory was started by a young Princeton University doctoral canidate named Hugh Everett, III. He stated that there are parallel universes, exactly like our universe. These universes have sprung off from ours and ours have sprung off of others. For instance, a species of bird that has been extinct for millions of years in our universe could still be thriving on another one. Even scarier, while humans are still living strong and healthy in our dimension, there could be a dimension out there in which humans have become extinct.
This theory is that all of the Pixar movies actually exist within the same universe.
The argument suggesting life existing on other Earth-like planets has been present since man first looked into space and questioned his own existence and the existence of others like him. Today there are many theories on the existence of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, but only one theory goes beyond them and into an even larger realm. The contents of this theory, known as the “multiverse” theory, suggest that humans on Earth live within one universe of many others that reside within a primordial vacuum containing many other universes (Jenkins and Perez). Each of these universes possesses potentially different natural constants and physical laws that govern them differently, thus calling forth some logical questions. First, what is the likelihood such universes even exist, and second, how can we test the constants and laws that still result in the possibility of intelligent life in other universes? Moreover, what implications does this theory have on the ideology that this universe is designed specifically for human beings?
I imagine there are billions of stars and constellations that are constantly shifting, changing and expanding infinitely to create every single existing thing on earth and everything all of us have ever known. But I can also imagine God waving his hands like a magician and all the elements forming to create the earth, the universe, and all the people that will ever exist. We also could have just as easily poofed into existence for a reason, fates intertwining and planning to cause our creation at the precise moment we are needed. But what does it mean then, what can it all mean? The questions surrounding existentialism are answered in the world around us through personal experiences, advice from past thinkers and perception.
