• Experiences - are the final events, where finished products can be consumed (memorable, transformations are effectual - mõjusad) (Pine and Gilmore, 2011).
• Flatters and Wilmott (2009, cited in Leigh, Webster and Ivanov, 2013) highlight a trend in that it seems that affluent –jõukad consumers have revealed mounting dissatisfaction with excessive consumption. Many desire a wholesome and a less wasteful life. As such, there is a desire to get back to nature, something that is tranquil, basic, rooted, human and simple (Yeoman, 2008). As a consequence, the desire for more authentic and simple luxury experiences accelerates. An example of simple luxury are tree house hotels, which offer a unique experience in a natural setting: this is a new experience which is not seen as conspicuous (silmatorkav) consumption, but overtly inconspicuous (varjamatult silmapaistmatu).

...aster service, social responsibility, better experiences and greater satisfaction (Pearce and Butler, 2010; Pine and Gilmore, 2011; Yeoman, 2012). Niche destinations, such as exotic experiences in remote places, are becoming a norm in globalisation of experiences. Yeoman (2012) stated that people are more enthusiastic about authentic engaging with local cultures and living, than being confined to a resort.
Krautkraemer (2005) points out, the past two centuries have seen unprecedented growth in human population and economic wellbeing for a good portion of the world. This growth has been fed by equally unprecented natural resource consumption and environmental impacts, including conversion of large portions of the natural world to human use, prompting recurring concern about whether the world’s natural resource base is capable of sustaining such growth (Yeoman, 2012).

Essay A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

-             A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is an appropriate name for the book. It’s about 7 years of Frances Nolan’s life. The book’s title is highly symbolical and took me several passes through it before I understood it completely. In the beginning of the book the author talks about the “Tree of Heaven”. “No matter where the seed fell, it made a tree which struggled to reach the sky”, is an excerpt from the first page of Book One. Until you finish the book or at least most of it you think the author is talking about a type of tree and the title makes absolutely positively no sense whatsoever because of that....   [tags: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn Essays]
