Oprah Gail Winfrey has accomplished so much not only in her life, but in other people’s lives around the world as well. Who would have known that a strong African American woman who has experienced a very rough life, could turn herself into one of the world’s few billionaires? Not only is she successful, but she takes her success and uses it to impact and support many worthy causes. In Oprah’s beginnings she had a very hard childhood. She was mistreated and sexually abused by family and others. However, she did not let that stop her from pursuing her goals and getting to the focal point of where she is in her life today.

Oprah’s Angel Network raised more than $51,000,000 for charity programs. These programs include girl’s education in South Africa and relief to people who were victims of Hurricane Katrina. This shows that everything that brought Oprah success and changed her life she used to help others. Fighting for rights of children shows that Oprah is a dedicated activist for children’s rights.
