Importance Of Motivation In The Classroom

Mrs. Carlisle used motivation in several different areas, but the one I enjoyed the most was at the beginning of the day. She would go around to each row of desks and have whoever wanted to volunteer tell the class something they were looking forward to or something interesting that had happened to them. Each student would be filled with joy when it was their turn to talk. I heard stories from birthday parties to bats in the house. I found it very fun and entertaining for both the students and the teacher. It also is a great way for Mrs. Carlisle to get to know each of her students. Another interesting activity I witnessed mrs. Carlisle using motivation was also in the morning. She would have all of the students sing songs and dance. I thought this was a great technique to get all of the students awake and excited for the day to come. She would also join in on the dancing to show the students that she 's a part of the family as well. Her participation is a huge factor in the students motivation. I have not visited Mrs. Carlisle’s classroom and not seen the smart board in use. I have mostly seen it used with powerpoint in the morning hours of school. Every morning the students sing along to song about what is expected of them in the classroom with regards to behavior. If the weather keeps the children inside for recess then they watch a movie on the smartboard. The children usually get to decide what movie they want to watch. I think it’s important that the children get their time outside, but if it 's not safe I feel the movie is a great option. Overall, I feel that technology was worked into the lesson plan just right. Sometimes I feel that people take advantage of the resource, Mrs. Carlisle’s classroom does a great job of not overdoing
