Transportation is one of the biggest things in our lives today. If there was no transportation, would we have been able to travel from one location to another so easily? Knowing that public transportation is provided every few minutes and hours, would we have been able to travel far and make it back? Consequently, imagining life without transportation seems fairly impossible. Traveling to work, school, home or anywhere else has been becoming a rapidly increasing issue that needs attention. People are finding it very difficult to travel from one place to another because of so many issues involved with it. As a result, being able to provide our communities with public transportation choices and/or alternatives can be proven very beneficial for the public people. Public transportation surrounds us wherever we are but sometime we don’t even notice it. In fact there are many different types of public transportation services such as Buses, Metros, Taxi’s, Bart and even Trains. Of course public transportation isn’t free but it definitely is much more affordable for those with little income. There are many benefits and even drawbacks when we rely on someone else to transport us. Some public transportation such as the Bart is cheap because the government helps take care some of the costs and doesn’t make the customer pay more out of their pocket. I personally have had a lot of experience with public transportation due to commuting to work from Tracy to San Francisco every day. My personal experiences with public transportation taught me that I had been through the goods and bads just like other commuters. Offering public transportation can be acknowledged as a very beneficial factor for the public because it safeguards ... ... middle of paper ... ... can easily be solved by a patrol going through the train making sure there isn’t anybody staying inside for excessive amounts of time. Overall the public transportation systems may already be running efficiently however with a couple more changes, we can create a much more safer environment for the public commuters to commute without any hassle or problem. We can make public transportations more safety controlled so that more individuals can use it as a way to travel from a certain place to another place. This can be proven as a very beneficial factor for the people, government, and the environment as well. Therefore, I believe that the government should provide more funding to make public transportation as reliable as possible and offer public transportation as a cheap, fast and a consistent way of traveling to school, work, home, or any other destination.
When construction takes place, it is usually way before it is actually needed. Of course it is helping prevent dangerous and fatal occurrences but for the most part some of these changes can wait. Believe it or not, 30 years ago, the subway fare used to be just a $1. This fare is even lower than the average fare that we pay today for a 30 day unlimited metro card. If one does the math, that’s $1.96 in 2009 dollars. Today the 30 day unlimited metro card brings fare down to $1.25. Altogether, I consider the subways to be a profitable deal. I mean how else one can get from Inwood Country Club to Rockaway Beach for less than the cost of a Starbucks latte?
For now the more use are the airlines, buses, or trains. Many people use the airlines to travel to one place to another, and by building the railway it will decrease the number of people who ride the planes and it will decrease the amount of people traveling in car, too. The railway is not only going to decrease the amount of people traveling in planes, cars, or bus but it will also decrease the amount of time people take to travel in this kind of transportations. A reporter says, “Texas central is planning to build a bullet train route that cut between Dallas and Houston, Trimming about 2 hours off the average driving time, and saving over an hour compared to air travel” (“Proposed”). The railways will cut time for passengers to get to their destination but it will have a bad result later on. Some people agree on building this train because it will be faster to get to one place to another, but they are wrong because it will take costumers away from other transportations, and it will have an impact in the increase of how much each ticket cost. It will destroy land from does that live there. Researchers have found that railways benefit economies by bringing competition to transportation because people will be able to choose from all the varieties. The Researchers are wrong because airline will not have the same amount of people as they do before the high-speed train is build. Not only the airlines but bus stations because people will not notice other transportation. The airlines, the cars, and trains companies will change things from their transportations because they will want to be better than the railways. For example, technology or even the ticket prices. All they would want is to be better than the railway, causing more and more competitions, which means people will expand more on buying the transportation

There is a serious problem with our nation's roads and highways. I find myself repeatedly avoiding trips to the city for this very reason, as I'm sure many others do as well. This nerve-wracking congestion is even beginning to find its way into the suburbs and surrounding areas of large cities. It is a serious problem that affects everyone who owns an automobile, as well as, businesses that are dependent on reliable and convenient transportation. To top it all off, this problem is getting worse every year. The population of this nation is growing, which translates to an increase in cars on the road. More people are moving to cities and the suburbs that surround them, creating gridlocks everywhere.

Does our Phoenix public transit work well? Does it provide sufficient service to the citizen? From my experience, the answer is no. This November I tried to attend the popular State Fair in Phoenix. However, I found that there were not any buses or metros could take me to the fair directly. It means I need 2 hours or more spend on the public transits.
