Located in the heart of the Deep South region of the United States, Alabama is one of the most interesting states to visit in the country. With miles of sandy beaches along its southern coast on the Gulf of Mexico to rugged mountains on its northern Tennessee border, Alabama has a wide range of beautiful natural landscapes that invite nature lovers to come and visit. For those who are lovers of culture and history, Alabama also beckons you to come visit its top-notch cultural and historical attractions. Simply put, everyone is sure to find something enjoyable in Alabama regardless of what you love.

Natural Attractions of Alabama

Since Alabama was first settled by the Cherokee, Choctaw, Creek and Chickasaw peoples, it has been a land of immense beauty. In the northern part of the state, the gently rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains provide a spectacular location for nature lovers seeking to rejuvenate and enjoy the beauty of the natural world. One of the most amazing attractions for nature enthusiasts to see is the Mount Cheaha State Park. Located just outside of Delta, Alabama, this majestic mountain stands 2,401 feet tall, or a little over 730 meters in height. With tall pine forests and plenty of hiking trails, this wonder of nature is sure to please anyone who visits and loves the great outdoors.

When visiting the southern part of Alabama, bird watchers and other nature lovers will enjoy a visit to the Dauphin Island Bird Sanctuary and the Dauphin Island Sea Lab.
