Susan Weiner unveils the many secrets and successes of “ Age-proofing” your life. In her article, Weiner reveals that the two most imperative elements in your quest is nutrition and exercise. There is no exact blueprint on gracefully aging due to the fact that everyone is different however, if one practices a healthy lifestyle and accommodates it with minimal stress the aging process wont be as drastic as it can be. Many researchers have came to the conclusion that those who live the longest consume a high amount of fruit, vegetables, and grain. Agents used in the cooking process consist of healthier non saturated fats such as olive and canola oils. Foods containing soy and tempeh is also a staple in their daily diets. Fats and fast food are rarely ingested and in most cases never eaten at all however antioxidants that work to release the toxins in the human body are consumed in high amounts. According to Weiner and the researchers she studies emphasize that nutrition is important In the aging process mainly because healthy eating strengthens immunity and your foods and supplements determine how you age. Those who are conscientious of the amounts of meat and the quality of the meats that they eat decrease their risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and osteoporosis. Taking the holistic approach to daily living can be extremely beneficial to the aging process because as one ages the body becomes more suceptible to age related diseases and illnesses. ... Your ability to be self sufficient and barely have to make changes to accommodate your age determines how to treat your body and carry out your life now. Your emotions, feelings, and interests in life determines your will to walk your life onto a path of heath and fitness. What you accomplish and do now will not only determine how you look at yourself 10,15, and 20 years from now but also what others will perceive of you. The few key basics in being a healthy individual and aging gracefully is water, protein, vegetables, essential oils, natural sugars and complex carbohydrates. Antioxidants, bio-flavanoids, and minerals are all equally imperative in your health journey. Nutrition always comes first and the mind and body connection with always feed off of one another. Cleaning up your diet is never easy however the benefits of carrying out this task last a life time.
