Caitlyn Marie Jenner. This particular name may ring a bell as her name has been heard and seen on hundreds and thousands of newspaper headlines, magazine articles, television shows, radio podcasts, celebrity interviews and several more social media pages. Caitlyn Jenner, also known as William Bruce Jenner is an athlete from the Summer Olympics in 1976. He won the men’s decathlon and is on the reality television program, “Keep Up with the Kardashians”. Caitlyn Jenner is known as the most famous transgender person in the world as she openly came out on national television in an interview with Diane Sawyer and on her family’s reality television show in April 2015. Jenner had undergo extensive plastic surgery and revealed her gender identification into a “trans woman”. Prior to this transition, she was married three times and has 6 children (Tauber, 2014). As a young adult, I am consistently exposed to photos, stories and videos of the Kardashian family. On Instagram, Kim Kardashian has over 47.6 million followers. By going shopping and passing by shops such as Calvin Klein, Kendall Jenner can be seen on all their advertisements. By turning on the television, “Keeping up with the Kardashians” is playing. By waiting to check out items at a grocery store, the big, bold capital letters about Bruce Jenner’s transgender story catches your eye as the magazine’s headline. It is almost impossible in this day and age to have not heard of the Caitlyn Jenner story. I am also certain that this change to former athelete, Bruce Jenner, has caused a lot of controversy and debate on transgenderism. Nearly 17 million people tuned in to watch Caitlyn Jenner’s announcement on the fact that she is a woman (Wheeling, 2015). The transgender rights movement...

Caitlyn Jenner now has a new reality show on her transition as a transgender called “I Am Cait”. “There’s two different things here. Sexuality is who you personally are attracted to- who turns you on. But gender identity has to do with who you are as a person and your soul and who you identify with inside” (Jenner, 2015). A person’s future should not be a immeasurable force but a human choice. Transgender people should be a positive result of culture and human life. Caitlyn Marie Jenner is a 65 year old transgender woman and it was now or never, or “a little too late” if she had not done what she thought was right.
