Arguably the most effective and powerful tyrant of the twentieth century. Was once a small innocent choir boy, then a homeless man obsessed with power and dictatorship, now personally responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews.
In the Austrian town of Braunau on April 20th, 1889, Adolf Hitler was born to mother and father Klara Pölzl and Alois Hitler. Adolf was a great student all throughout primary school, even being a member in the school choir, but very shortly after going to college Adolf soon became rebellious and was failing many of he’s classes. In 1905 He transferred to another school, but then in the end he just quit formal education altogether. He began his years of amateur painting, and dreamt of becoming a famous artist. In 1907, when his mother died, he moved to Vienna to apply for a position in The Academy of Fine Arts. However he’s application was rejected as they thought he was simply not good enough. He became homeless and was living in men’s shelters, trying to survive on an orphan's pension and the money he earned by selling postcards he’d painted. It was whilst he was homeless that he first began to be fascinated by the immense possibility of political manipulation.
He was enthralled by the successes of the Vienna, Mayor Karl Lueger and his propaganda organisation. Under the mayor’s influence, Hitler started to develop the extreme obsession with anti-Semitism that would remain central to his own beliefs. In May 1913 Hitler attempted to slip across the German border to Munich to avoid the Austrian military service. He was arrested and turned over to the Austrian police days later. Adolf Hitler had a long and eventful life, full of extreme highs and extreme lows but he would always get the better of it. He was disliked by a numerous amount of people and his inhumane acts are still talked about today but, he still has many followers and has the highest respect from others. I believe that all of he’s actions were unnecessary and just utterly barbaric. The things he did were just atrocious.

Adolf grew up not having as much money as they would like but still made it work with what they had. He had five siblings, but only one survived childhood due to illnesses and lack of medicine. Paula Hitler, his sister was the only sibling that survived childhood while Gustav, Ida, Otto, and Edmund. Besides them, he did have a stepbrother named Alois and step-sister named Angela from his father's previous marriages. His father had two marriages before Adolf was born. Adolf’s father was fifty-one when he had him, and died when Adolf was only thirteen. Adolfs mom, Klara had died of breast cancer in 1908 (Early Years).

He also spent a lot of time playing cowboys and Indians. His best childhood friend, August Kubizek claimed that Adolf was shy but often busted out in anger. The two became inseparable during their early years. In school, however, Hitler's record wasn't very good, he eventually dropped out before his tuition was over. He dropped out with dreams of becoming an artist. On December 21, 1908, Klara dies from breast cancer. In 1909, Hitler moves into flophouses and hostels in Vienna and stays for four years. Finally in 1913, Hitler leaves Vienna to move to Munich, Germany.
Confused and lost, Hitler joined the army and fought for Germany in World War I. However, an injury in 1918 left the soldier temporarily blind. It was during this period that Hitler learned of Germany's surrender, and this triggered the anger that lurked in the shadows of the terrible man's heart. It was this new rage that spurred Hitler's idea to overthrow the government. However, his plans were foiled when he was laughed at and thrown in jail.

When we think of the Holocaust, we usually just think of Adolf Hitler, but there was much more to the story than what meets the eye. Hitler was born on April 20th, 1889 in Austria to his mother, Klara Hitler, and his father, Alois Hitler. According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Adolf was baptized a Catholic, even though he was born partially a Jew. His young life was difficult, always fighting with his father, and growing up in a middle class family. But, when going to jail for treason in 1924, his life got even harder. He was supposed to be in jail for five years, but ended up staying only for nine months. While spending his nine months in jail, he wrrote a book called Mein Kampf. Adolf Hitler's book, called Mein Kampf, translates to My Struggles. His book was written about his struggles, and what his plan was to do. Hitler's book also got him out of jail, beginning his rise to power.

He was named chancellor on January 30, 1933 by president Paul Van Hidenburg. His rise to power could have ended if the Enabling Act of 1933 was not adopted. The Enabling Act of 1933 meant that Hitler could enact laws and endemocract in Germany. The Nazi party used force to scare the German Governmant into voting for the act. The day the voting for the Nazi troopers gathered outside the opera house, chanting,"Full power or else." under Hitlers rule, Germany was transformed into a racist totlaitarian state which controlled nearly all aspects for everyones life.
The Nazi Party was formed in January 1919 by Anton Drexler. Originally it was named the German Workers Party (DAP). Hitler joined in Autumn of 1919. He quickly rose to become the leader of the party. The party was transformed by Hitler and became a political party rather than the discussion group that it had been when he joined. The SA (Brownshirts) was formed to protect Hitler and other party leaders at meetings. It also disrupted the meetings of the Nazi’s political opponents.
