Adapting to change
I am the kind of person who likes to be in an environment that doesn’t change to often. I’m not a fan of jumping into something new. Adapting to change is one of the hardest things for me and it is the one thing that I need to work on the most. Change happens all around us every day and I need to learn how to deal with it. Change can be good. Change can be bad. It’s just what I’m going to have to work on to become a better leader.
SMART Goal

Purpose: I must remind myself that my goal into becoming a better leader is taking new paths in my life and learn from my mistakes. My mistakes will be falling into the same path that I am in know. Trying to avoid the change as much as possible. It’s time to break that so I can become a better leader.
4. Plan of action: my plan is to stick to the plan and not let anything get in my way of changing what I am trying to achieve.
5. Staying focused: This is probably one of the hardest. I have a lot of things going on in my life. Two jobs, college, taking care of a family, which is all important but I always can’t get overwhelmed and forget what I’m trying to accomplish.
Realistic
Adapting to change I find is worthwhile in my eyes. I can see myself grow from what I learn and see by working on myself and change the way I use to think about the word change. I’m discovering that change is good for everyone, it breaks up the normal grove that everyone is in making the discover and learn how to adapt to change. The question that I’m going to ask myself is, am I the right person to reach my goal? You bet! I’m going to take the time and work on myself on how to deal with the fact that everything around me is bound to
Change is good." We hear the catchy phrase everywhere. From company slogans to motivational speeches, our world seems to impose this idea that change is always a good thing. Assuming that the change is for the better, it is probably a true statement in most cases. The root of this idea seems to come from the notion that we are dissatisfied with the state that we are in, so, in order to create a more enjoyable surrounding, we adjust. Others, however, stray from this practice, and instead of trying to adapt to the people around them, they try and change others.
How do you adapt to change? Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. Change is a fundamental part of life, and eventually everyone goes through it; it is inevitable. You will stumble across times where you will be unable to control what is taking place, and you will need to be ready and willing to adjust to what life decides to throw at you. You have to be able to find the individuals that’ll support and inspire you to be the best possible version of yourself, and are genuinely blithe when you succeed. You cannot dwell on the past and what “could have been”, willing to accept what is and what will be, ready to conquer any obstacles in your way, and you’ll most likely to be more satisfied with your results. Your attitude
We need to embrace change by having an individual take a leadership role. There can be more than one leader, but at least one person has to realize change is needed for the better and success of others. Another way to embrace change is by bringing the ...
Whether it be learning how to ride the subway in another country or communicating within a group to accomplish a professional goal, the ability to adapt is needed to succeed in life. In order to appreciate adjustment later, one must experience the uneasiness of new situations multiple times in their life and learn how to act accordingly. Throughout ones life, there will be an endless amount of social, business, and familial interactions to adapt to; and being good at adapting will only help retain one’s success, happiness, and sanity. The inability or unwillingness to adapt can have many negative consequences on ones future. Part of this is accepting that not everything goes according to plan at times, and one must be prepared to compromise
Change 4 Life is a campaign that is set up to promote health and it also helps a range of individuals change their lifestyles by:
This assessment score surprised me for I feel that I am very tolerant and adapt well to change, but maybe, as I get older, I resistance change because I have found principles and ideas that work well to achieve success and see change as only undermining what is already working (McShane & Von Glinow, 2016, p. 429). McShane & Von Glinow (2016, p. 428) says that “constructive communication” can overcome resistance. This statement is directed at management, but I plan on using this same advice to overcome my own resistance to change from management. Changes are occurring in my department and some role realignment is going to take place, as this occurs, I agree with McShane & Von Glinow (2016, p. 434) that this change will cause me additional stress, of course, now that I know this I can actions to prevent it. An article written by John MacArthur’s says that the Apostle Paul when faced with pressure still reserved “room in his heart to feel the anxiety of other” (MacArthur, 2012), so when thinking of change, instead of just seeing it as something that is stressing me out, I need to realize that others are probably going thought the same emotions and symptomize with them other, for MacArthur also says that, “Anyone who knows and loves Jesus Christ is capable of handling pressure like that” (MacArthur, 2012). I also need to remember that God is in control and no matter what changes occur God will see me through it (Matthew 6:26). By managing change better, will make me a
A quote that I feel everyone should know is “You learn from the past, live in the present, and plan for the future”- Audrey Farrell, and I believe this because as a leader you are going to make mistakes, and not everything is going to be as smooth as a leader would hope. So if anyone or I can learn from those tough times, and create a plan or a course of action to take when something similar arises that is what a true leader does. A true leader does not force their followers to change to his or her style, he adapts to their followers. So my goal is to be a leader that people respect, trust, and when I am trying to fix something that I feel is wrong, they will respect my decision and work with my to correct it.
Ari Brace Mr. Liepa Honors Global Literature 4 May 2014 Adapting to Change Chinua Achebe’s book, Things Fall Apart, is a story about a society on the verge of a cultural change. The main character, Okonkwo, is driven throughout the story by fear and a drive for success. He relied on the village of Umuofia to stay the same because he used the structured culture to feel safe and appreciated. He lives in a constant state of fear because he wants to find his own meaning in life.
Change should be seen as a challenge and embraced with enthusiasm (Marquis & Huston, 2012). In my professional and personal life, I view and respond to change as a way to make improvements to existing regulations and circumstances. I embark upon the quest with determination to succeed at whatever task is presented to me. Life without change can become unchallenging and stagnant (Marquis & Huston, 2012). As society and technology advance, you must incorporate the necessary transformations that arise with it.
Welcoming change means accepting the mistakes that are made along the way. Individuals who do not let themselves to commit mistakes, will not be able to adjust well with life transitions, and will not be able to enjoy living life to its maximum capacity. What is evident is that everyone is going to be required to adapt to change throughout life, as changes are a guarantee, until the day we decease. Everyone has the ability to gain the ability to control life’s changes because we have the choice to study different ways of
The idea of change is the most constant factor in business today and organisational change therefore plays a crucial role in this highly dynamic environment. It is defined as a company that is going through a transformation and is in a progressive step towards improving their existing capabilities. Organisational change is important as managers need to continue to commit and deliver today but must also think of changes that lie ahead tomorrow. This is a difficult task because management systems are design, and people are rewarded for stability. These two main factors will be discussed with reasons as to why organisational change is necessary for survival, but on the other hand why it is difficult to accomplish.
The case study and readings in this class have painted a clear picture of the various ways one can be a leader, the catalyst that has inspired the least likely to lead to action and the many different capacities in which one is a leader. From the parent whose child is the victim of abuse to the CEO of a major corporation, leadership can spring forth and blaze trails never imagined by others. I learned that on my journey to executive leadership, I can begin leading in my current capacity as an analyst. I do not need to wait to be given the “thumbs up” to lead, as I can be a leader in many ways everyday. Leadership is not about magnificent speaking or major endeavors, “it is about coping with change” (Kotter, p.31, 2003). We all are subject to situation dealing with change daily, it is all about how we cope with it and how others interpret and accept our coping skills.
In relation to social transformation I have gathered materials that focusses on programs provided for ‘refugees’ living in New Zealand. The purpose of my findings are based on the societies support for ‘refugees’ in terms of human security and directions of life before settling in their new destination. There are stories about ‘refugees’ that need to be shared and stories that need to be forgotten, because it can produce controversy within the society or the universe. But where can these ‘refugees’ go if the place they call home is unsafe or too risky for the lives of their families and for themselves. It’s hard enough to migrate into a new country, but it is devastating for refugees who have experienced the loss of homes and loved ones.

There are many aspects in change leadership and people’s fear is one of them. Working as team member in a company takes a long time to adapt to other team members and work productively. Those employees who cannot accept changes fast and adapt to new team members may have troubles to work effectively and may be causing stagnation of other workers and a...
