Kindness is the one task every individual can do daily, but, why don’t we? Individuals are wrapped up in their daily lives and focused on themselves mostly, we miss the one thing that could help us daily. Kindness acts. Serotonin levels are raised in our brains which cause, individuals to feel happy. We all want to be happy, so, why don’t we? In a cold world, overtaken by egotism and greediness, a desperate need for those little acts of care are crucial. Just a helping hand or a quick show of compassion can turn another person’s day completely around.

He saw me have my hands full and trying to put all the plates on the table for dinner. He instead of just sitting there, he got down from his seat and went and found my drink and put it on the table. He then proceeded to pull my chair out before getting back on his. This act of kindness was truly sweet and innocent. The next day, I saw a mother, like myself trying to checkout at Dollar General. The kids were screaming and she was fumbling throughout her purse to come up with the .50 cents in change she needed. I have been this woman before, it is not an easy position to be in. People were complaining that she was taking too long and the cashier was disgusted. I was playing with the kids and talking them to try to help. She could not find enough change to pay, which looked like she didn’t have much money. I then reach in my purse and found the change. I told the cashier, try to be patient more, it isn’t easy with kids, and trying to shop. The man behind me, mumbled a comment about what I said and I turned and told him, it is people with negative attitudes like yours that cause the world to be so negative. The woman said, “thank you so much, and god bless you”. At that time, and older woman saw what happened and went up to me outside, and said to me “if more people in this world acted like you, it would be a better world” I said thank you, I learned it from my son. It made my mood happy and motivated to do something good. I made the decision to try to do this daily. Just one act a day, something like “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” method. The feelings I had seeing the mother stressed and trying to rush while the world was defeating her, placed me back into a time I was in her shoes. I remember the way I was feeling and how no one helped me and wanted to help her. I know many cannot afford to do this, but I out back an item myself, when I was checking out I did not need really to cover the cost of it. I felt peaceful and just genuinely happy when I did this deed. I also noticed myself smiling, and not letting my own child that was causing chaos at the time in line too, change that
