With just food stamps alone, a family of five gets $700 or more a month. However, people who are on food stamps average at least $100 per person alone. Mind you, this is only food stamps. The Welfare system is extremely important in the U.S. As people get smarter, it continually gets more complicated to keep the welfare system fair for everyone, but organizing the Welfare System to fit the times would be the best option for the Government. We will never have a perfect Welfare System, but we can try our best to make sure it is fair and up to date. Completely cutting it would do more harm than the current system is causing now. Allowing people to go hungry is not morally right and is definitely not the answer to cutting back on Welfare costs.
