Between 1973, and 2003, abortion clinics and providers have had estimated 300 acts of violence: this includes arson, bombings, murders and butyric acid attacks. The National Abortion Federation has reported more than 176,000 of picketing at clinics; 16,000 cases of hate mail or harassing phone calls, over 1,500 acts of vandalism, and finally, nearly 400 death threats since 1977(Hutcherson, ”A Brief History…”). What is considered to be the largest shared issue with abortion, is the fact that one has to question whether or not they personally deem the act of abortion as ethical or not. Is abortion ever okay? Can abortion ever be justified? These are just some of the questions asked by many, because there is so much mystery and stigmata’s surrounding the procedures. Annually, 1.1 million U.S. abortions take place a year; which is roughly 22% of the female population in the United States of America today (“Abortion Facts...”). Generally everyone can at the very least, agree that choosing to give up Most adopted children do well in school, show high self-esteem, optimism, and feelings of security (O’ Banning, “Adoption…”). It really sounds like the perfect answer. Why not save these lives and just give birth? This is something that seems to be an appropriate response from pro-life activists. We personally interviewed one woman who had undergone an abortion, and this was her reasoning as to why she did it; “I was 24 when I had an abortion. I already have two kids, one is seven and the other is three. My boyfriend (of 10 years) knew we couldn’t afford another child.
