Rhetoric and This Semester

I believe rhetoric is a type of language whose main purpose is to be persuasive to a certain audience. The reason and techniques behind the persuasion is what we have studied in class throughout the semester. I have come to this definition by viewing Aristotle’s definition and thinking about all the things we have talked about and studied in class. Aristotle definition is: Rhetoric is “the faculty of discovering in any particular case all of the available means of persuasion.” I agree with this definition of rhetoric more than the others because this is what I believe rhetoric is. This is what we did with rhetoric in class, was try to identify the forms of rhetoric used in different mediums and why they were used.
Rhetoric in print ads is something we studied in class extensively. My first essay for the class was a rhetorical analysis of a print ad by Skyy Vodka.
