A Strong Mother I know it might sound generic but the only person I can imagine writing an essay on is my mother, Wendy Mayor. Throughout my entire life, she has been the single greatest person I have ever known. Through both the best and worst of times, she has cared for and protected her family better than I could imagine; even to this day as I look back on the events of my family 's past, I cannot consider any possible way a person could have handled themselves better. My mother has always had a hard life, even from the times when she was a small child she was put through trials that I do not wish to go into. Such trials are the reason why she left home at the age of 16, never even completing middle school, and worked odd jobs just to put food on her table. However, even though she was put through these trials she never gave up and kept working to make a life for herself. She continued her lifestyle until she became the age of 20; that is the time she met my father and, under an agreement rather than love, married. Like a shield, she protected us from all the tragedies by always looking on the bright side of things. No matter what she had to sacrifice, be it her teeth, shoes, or even food; she always made sure we had good health, good shoes, something to eat, and a roof over our heads. To this day my mother works, though not as hard as she once did, to help my family; be it a relative that needs a place to live or my sister needing money for her family, my mother has never turned anyone away. Although she does drink now, not heavily a course, and smokes more than she should; she is still the same kind, strong woman she was when I was a
