Polluted water outbreak
Polluted Water is becoming a large issue that people are going to have to do something about in order for us to drink water safely without harm and to stop the killing of sea life. Earth’s surface is covered of 70% of water and only about 3% of it is drinkable but with all this pollution we will not have any healthy water left and sea life is slowly getting killed with all this pollution. Plants are also being affected by the polluted water, when they absorb the oil they eventually die off.
Our water is being polluted by certain wastes from factories that have certain toxic chemicals that could contain nitrogen, lead, and certain other chemicals that is harmful to us and marine life. Another big one that is polluting

Another really common one is sediments. ‘It causes $16 billion in environmental damage yearly’. In a natural habitat, rainfall is taken in by meadows and forests, The nutrients are absorbed by plants and the water streams provide clean, fresh water sources to wildlife. In cities, fields of grass and areas of trees are replaced by flat pavements, poorly managed watersheds, and obscuring dams. Buildings and roads are built , and natural habitats are destroyed . city water drains are constructed, but can be easily backed up or littered, causing extra, water pollution. After a large rain storm, particles from soil and rock flow into land surfaces and waterways which is then carried and moved by wind and precipitation. These particles can have anything from nutrients like phosphorus to endocrine disrupters. soil content, melting snow, slope of land, and farmland are some that can cause sediment pollution. This causes many huge problems like ruining fresh water supplies and killing some fish species. Throw away motor oil and batteries at auto shop places or other places similar that collect them. Throw away waste don’t dump it down drains or just leave them on the ground. Should try not to use pesticides and herbicides, which can harm people, pets, environment and other living organisms. Don’t use certain products that can harm the environment like certain plant killers like weed killer they have chemicals that will harm it should pull weeds by hand. Also, don’t use too much of fertilizers, they can wash into rivers or other areas of water and cause harmful algal to grow and take oxygen away from

Water pollution has had devastating effects on the environment, which include irreversible effects on the oceans ecosystem. People often underestimate the importance of the ocean. They don’t realize how much damage pollution has caused to the ocean and the thousands of creatures that inhabit it. Earth is a huge place, but resources are actually very limited and will not last forever unless there is a balance. We must protect the resources we have in order for them to last into the next generation.
Pollution comes in many forms. In the ocean we dump a variety of substances, including human wastes, chemicals from fertilizers, oil, and trash such as plastic which all contribute to the growing issue of our ocean pollution. In addition to, our usable waters are finite. More than 97.5 percent of the water on this planet is undrinkable salt water; the remaining 2.5 percent has two-thirds of the usable fresh water locked up in glaciers, snow, and permafrost. Of the one-third of freshwater that is available for human use, 20 percent is used for industrial use. (“Water Pollution”) “In effect, water pollution reduces the volume of water available for use by human and other populations.” (Robin Clarke, Jannet King) Knowing that there are approximately 7.2 billion people and growing on this planet with only 0.83 percent of available for our use wouldn’t you want to do everything possible to help put an end to water pollution? There is a global shortage of drinking water. A person might wonder how this can be if seventy percent of the earth’s surface is covered by water. Most of the Earth’s water is unsuitable for human consumption. Ocean water is salt water, which makes up 97.5% of all water on the planet. Freshwater is only 3.5% of all the water on Earth.
Water is on of the most precious natural resources that exist on our planet. “It is delivered from the atmosphere in the form of rain, snow, hail, fog, and condensation and returns to the atmosphere by evaporation and transpiration” (Hannigan 1969). Although many of us love activities that have to do with water, we disregard it and pollute out rivers, lakes and oceans. Slowly but surely we are going to harm out planet till no return. Our planet is suffering from severe pollution, which ranges from contaminated air, water and soil as well. Humans are doing nothing to reduce the amount of pollution that is harming our earth. To understand how pollution works first you must understand that there are different types of pollution. The most common types of pollution and the ones that I will be focusing on which are the ones doing the most harm to our planet are air pollution, water pollution, soil contamination and littering. In order to help out and reduce pollution in our planet people need to be more aware of what these problems are and about the severe damages that they are causing our planet. Before industrialization really jumped into place and had an effect on large cities, nature had its own way of cleaning up its own air and itself. Wind scattered gases, rain washed many substances and the rest dissolved into the ground; while plants absorbed carbon dioxide and made it into oxygen. With big cities growing more every time and with more towns that were becoming more industrialized a lot of more waste began to be released into the environment and the atmosphere and soon this was more than enough for nature to handle. In order to stop and reduce pollution people need to understand the damage that it is causing our environment and our planet as well. People need to be more aware of how they can help out and do their part in reducing these problems that are causing our planet to die slowly with people not even noticing it.

Domestic households and industrial and agricultural practices often produce wastewater that can cause rivers and lakes to become polluted. This is typically called sewage and wastewater pollution. Sewage is a term for wastewater that usually contains feces, urine, and laundry waste. With there being billions of people on earth, treating sewage is a big priority.
