research is conducted by all types of business, companies and organizations to gain information
about products and different topics. Also, it was brought to Rose’s attention that behavioral
science had four goals: description of behavior, prediction of behavior, determining the causes of behavior, and explanation of behavior (Cozby and Bates 2012). Rose learned about the APA style in the first module, and the information was a great help in writing her first paper. She learned how to set up the paper with a title page, abstract, body and bibliography. Rose gained an understanding of the importance of citing all of her sources to prevent plagiarism. According to Jeff Karon (2012
), plagiarism is defined as “
an act or instance of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author 's work as one 's own, as by not crediting the original author
.”
Many of the things that Rose learned was new to her, and she was glad that she had the opportunity to take this class. For instance, she was totally unaware how to even conduct research. She was not aware that it was process that she could follow. First, she learned about hypothesis, and how it is formed by the researcher. According to Cozby and Bates (2012), research is an attempt to test a hypothesis made by the researcher. Once the hypothesis is made, the researcher will make a prediction which states what they think will be outcome of the research (Cozby & Bates 2012). Rose found this chapter to be one of the most helpful because it discussed about how to conduct research. She often went back to this chapter because of the great insights that it gave on starting the research process. S...

Conclusion
Rosa acknowledges that this class has been a challenge, but she is a better student because of it. The knowledge and insight that she has learned will be used throughout her

academic career and beyond. The class has shown her what she capable of doing, and her ability to learn new things. One of the most important things that she will take away from this course is the APA style. The text book and handouts will work as good references for future research and papers
