Reflection Paper On Campus Fest

This week at Bowling Green State University an event known as campus fest took place. The campus was lined with student organizations who were handing out information about themselves. While at campus fest I visited multiple tables, and three of these organizations stood out to me. The fishing team, club dodge ball, and Delta Tau Delta tables all struck me as unique and interesting. I plan on getting involved in these organizations as they will allow me to meet new people and engage in activities I enjoy. I first visited the fishing team table because fishing has been one of my biggest hobbies since I was a young boy. I always enjoyed playing dodge ball in gym class at my high school and at my local recreational center on Friday nights. My friends and I would play dodge ball a few times a month back in my hometown and we always had fun so I was interested in learning more about their club. I learned that this club is extremely competitive like many other sports teams, but it is also exceptionally fun. I also learned that this group holds practices and is treated like an actual sports team. I was surprised to hear that the dodge ball club actually held practices but I found it to be very interesting. I believe that this club will also be able to help me both professionally and personally. This organization will help me professionally because it will teach me skills regarding teamwork and cooperation. Since I want to become a game warden, I need to know how to work with other people and how to be an effective member of a team. Playing dodge ball puts you in a situation where you need to work with your team in order to win the game. Learning skills like these will be useful in the field when I am working with other game wardens or other law enforcement agencies. This club will help me personally because I will be able to meet new people while playing a game I enjoy. I don’t know many people in college yet other than my friends in my dorm, so being part of a club will allow me to make new friends and connections. The third table I visited was a fraternity table and that was the Delta Tau Delta
