Throughout history, mankind has encountered multiple obstacles. One of the main roadblocks has been illness. From a simple cold to the bubonic plague, viruses and diseases were once thought uncontrollable and deadly. Scientists have recently found ways to combat such illnesses – vaccines. When administered, the weak virus in a vaccine is easily overwhelmed by a healthy immune system. The human body remembers the virus structure and is capable of fighting the full version. In manufacturing vaccines, it is necessary to prevent bacterial or fungal growth in the event that the vaccine is accidentally contaminated, as might occur with repeated puncture of multi-dose vials (Questions and Answers). Four ninths of the 2009-2010 influenza vaccine and half of the 2009-2010 H1N1 vaccine contain the Thimerosal preservative (Thimerosal in Some U.S. Licensed Vaccines). Thimerosal is fifty percent Mercury by weight (Thimerosal in Vaccines). The toxicity of Mercury has long been recognized. Commonly known negative effects of mercury are Minamata disease from contaminated fish or grain, Pink disease from Mercury in teething powders, and Mad Hatter’s disease. Most recently, Thimerosal has allegedly been linked to Autism Spectrum Disorders. A hidden miniature war has erupted between United States government health officials and the Coalition for Mercury-free Drugs, or CoMeD. Both sides admit the dangers of mercury but have taken different positions on the safety of currently offered vaccines and alleged links to ASD.
Primarily, ASD is believed to arise from genetic disposition. The American Medical Association admits the cause is unconfirmed, but they relay an argument suggesting the cause is primarily genetic because tests show prevalence of auti...

...ing manufactured for the U.S. market…contain no Thimerosal or only trace amounts” (Questions and Answers). Today’s vaccinated children have a greater chance of becoming a mermaid than becoming Autistic from Thimerosal. In fact, by not being vaccinated, a greater risk is imposed on our children. It is scary to imagine an eradicated disease such as Polio, Rubella, or Smallpox reappearing simply because an ill-informed parent did not know Thimerosal-free vaccines were available for infants. Talking with doctors is not just a tagline for cheesy medication commercials. Conversation with a trusted family doctor or pediatrician is dire for the health of our children. The safety and security of our country and our planet depends on how we pave the road for our kids. Safely immunizing them provides protection from the most vile and easily preventable roadblocks in life.
...he diseases they are aimed to protect from. Within the United States, vaccines have reduced the incidence of measles by 98 percent and invasive Haemophilus influenzae type b infection in children by more than 99 percent. Because of immunization, the incidence of diphtheria dropped from 206,000 cases and 15,520 deaths in 1921 to an average of just two to three reported cases each year since 1980. Despite the success in eradicating diseases, some people tend to doubt the safety of vaccination, by believing misleading information about the ingredients of vaccines. Brian Dunning in his video clears out all the nonsense arguments associated with vaccine ingredients people use to avoid getting vaccinated. The ingredients that are present in every vaccine are listed and are available to anyone who is interested. As Brian says - “Everything there is there for a reason”.
“Vaccinations are causing a major upsurge in childhood diseases, adult maladies, and even deadly ailments such as Gulf War Syndrome and Lou Gehrig’s disease” (Blaylock). Every now and then an individual’s doctor calls telling them about the latest vaccine they should receive. The person immediately schedules a time to come in and get it done. But do they even give a second thought about it? Have they ever thought that maybe they do not need another vaccination? Many people have not taken the time to seriously think about the process of immunization. The truth is, there are many dangers that the average person should be unaware of. Rarely do vaccines actually accomplish what the public has been told. In fact, a lot of vaccines contain harmful substances that have been linked to disorders such as autism. The lack of education and dishonesty from doctors are putting people in danger of health problems without even realizing. Many parents feel obligated for their children to get vaccinated because of school, not knowing they have the alternative option of refusing immunization.
So far, the causes of ASD remain a mystery. However, researchers say that autism may
Every year, tens of thousands Americans die from the seasonal flu alone. This alarming statistic is what led the United States government to urge the country to vaccinate themselves, as well as their children every November, when the flu season is fast approaching. Though countless Americans do follow the government’s plea, many others insist that these vaccines distributed every year (as well as other year-long vaccines) contain an abnormally high amount of thimerosal, (a mercury-based chemical in vaccines designed to prevent the growth of bacteria) which could eventually lead to autism. This generation of fear is what has led many concerned parents to refuse to vaccinate their children, who seem to be the most vulnerable to this disease. However, can we really trust a rumor to fuel our doubts of America’s struggle to fight disease among our people? Can we discontinue our trust in the health department because of paranoia? No. Even if autism may be an effect of these vaccines, it is our duty, our responsibility to protect the good of the public by preventing an outbreak of this infl...
Childhood vaccinations have replaced common childhood illness as a “rite of passage” for many young children. Many parents, at the recommendation of their physician, diligently bring their children to the doctor every couple of months for what are thought to be important and safe vaccinations. Many parents are lead to believe that vaccinating their children, albeit the so-called slight risks associated with vaccines, is the responsible thing to do for the sake of the common good, which includes their child’s safety, as well as the safety of the community. But are parents made aware of some of the ingredients in these so-called safe vaccines and the inherent risks of the ingredients? Are parents aware of the protection the United States government offers to vaccine manufacturers and those who recommend and administer the vaccines? Do parents realize that their child just might be a sacrificial lamb?
Autism (or ASD) is a wide-spectrum disorder leading to no two people with ASD will have an exact same symptom.[2] The different variations of ASD symptoms, some people will have mild symptoms while others will have severe ones. Although ASD varies significantly in character and severity, it occurs in all ethnic and socioeconomic groups and affects every age group.[2] For many years ASD was uncommon - happening in just five children out of 10,000. However, since the early 1990s, the rate of autism has increased sharply around the world, as high as 60 per 10,000.[6] In March, 2012, the US federal Centers for Disease Control stated that 1 in 88 children in the US is conducted with ASDs according to estimates from CDC's Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) network.[6]...

Parents also argue that they do not vaccinate their children because of the harmful side effects that their child could endure. Not only are the ingredients contained in a vaccine often questionable but the amount that the child is receiving at his or her doctor’s visit is often asked by parents. The effects from vaccines on both mental and physical health is often debated. Some parents claim that a reason why they do not vaccinate is because vaccines contain live versions of the disease. Additionally, some vaccines contain ingredients that might be harmful if injected into the human body. These same parents might also argue that vaccinations are loaded with chemicals and other poisons which are unnatural to themselves and their children. Aluminum, bovine cow serum, egg protein, and human albumin are of
Just like prescription drugs, vaccines can be a harmful risk. For example, the small pox vaccine that is recommended by government health officials carries a risk for complications like inflammation of the brain which can lead to damage of the brain or even death. People who believe we should have mandatory vaccinations will say that vaccines have saved many lives, and though its true vaccines have also caused many serious and sometimes fatal side effects. There are also many cases where many parents strongly believe that some vaccines may have caused autism in their children. The reason being that many parents noticed shortly after their child was vaccinated they noticed symptoms like loss of language abilities and they were suddenly stopped interacting with people. Also, the vaccines used to treat measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) are linked to many autism cases. Vaccines that contain thimerosal, which is an organic compound that contains mercury, has also been suspected to cause autism in children. Thimerosal has been removed from most vaccines because of its linkage to autism. Scientist believe that MMR vaccines trigger a regressive form of autism, because the measles virus in the vaccine embeds itself in the intestine, causing some kind of reaction in the brain. Mercury, a chemical element, is used in a lot of vaccines can be very dangerous. High levels of
“There is hope in dreams, imagination and in courage of these who wish to make dreams a reality.” Jonas Salk the creator of the Polio Vaccine once said. His imagination led to this pioneer in medical science to reducing 350,000 inevitable cases of the Polio virus in 1952 to just 223 cases in 2012. This Extraordinary feat of immense proportion cannot go unnoticed by medical science. This form of distributing medicine may damage the epidermis but it revolutionized and contributed so much to modern medicine. Like the economic and medical advancements like using vaccines to combat deadly pathogens. However controversy struck when traces of mercury “a highly toxic substance” was found in vaccines in the 20th century. Also, side effects are very present when it comes to vaccines. But controversy is unnecessary because of significant decrease of some diseases.
While the reality of the matter is that ASD isn't something a man essentially "becomes out of," there are numerous medicines that can enable kids to secure new aptitudes and conquer
Thimerosal contains a form of mercury that people suspect to be causing autism. Different symptoms of mercury poisoning can include: irritability, depression, anxiety, visual problems, speech problems, and sensory nerve problems. When it all comes down to it, mercury is and can be very harmful. “Methylmercury accumulates in human tissue and, at certain levels, can impair cognitive development in young children.” (Vaccines and autism: Separating fact from fiction) The mercury that was used in vaccines doesn’t accumulate in the body. The mercury found in contaminated fish and water is called methylmercury, and can build up in the body and cause severe nerve damage if ingested. Methylmercury is not the same as methyl mercury. The human body eliminates ethyl mercury faster than methylmercury, which means that ethyl mercury doesn’t accumulate in human tissue. U.S. public health officials had come to the realization that the mercury that was given to children in the vaccines exceeded the limit considered safe by government standards. It is said that babies might have been exposed to a cumulative dose of 187.5 micrograms from all sources during the first six months of their life. To this day, childhood vaccines contain no more than trace amounts of thimerosal. By the age of six months old, they are exposed to a cumulative dose of less than 3 mcg of mercury from vaccines. (Vaccines and autism: Separating fact from
There have been many issues surrounding vaccinations all around the world. Vaccines are made with dangerous toxins that can cause disorders in many different people. Dr. Joseph says that almost all vaccines are made with immune adjuvant, which causes the immune system to react in a harmful way (qtd. in Garcia). Some serious side effects of the immune adjuvant include lowering of intellectual and sexual abilities and death in serious cases (Garcia). Also, in a recent study Mark Geier and David Geier found that thimerosal in vaccines is linked to neurodevelopment disorders, such as autism. They found...
Vaccines against diphtheria, polio, pertussis, measles, mumps and rubella, and more recent additions of hepatitis B and chicken pox, have given humans powerful immune guards to ward off unwelcome sickness. And thanks to state laws that require vaccinations for kids enrolling in kindergarten, the U.S. presently enjoys the highest immunization rate ever at 77%. Yet bubbling beneath these national numbers is the question about vaccine safety. Driven by claims that vaccinations can be associated with autism, increasing number of parents are raising questions about whether vaccines are in fact harmful to children, instead of helpful (Park, 2008).
A prevailing argument that pro-voluntaristic individuals frequently make is that vaccines have the potential to be harmful to individuals; a primary motive behind this pertains to an alleged correlation that exists between thimerosal, a component of vaccines, and countless disorders including autism (Benjamin, 2003). According to Barbara Loe Fisher, president of the National Vaccine Information Center, “When you take a look at the ever-increasing numbers of doses of vaccines babies have gotten over the past two decades and you see this corresponding rise in chronic disease and disability in our children, it is out of control” (Benjamin, 2003). Many speculated that the mercury contained within the thimerosal was to blame for this. However, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), thimerosal contains a form of mercury known as ethylmercury that quickly evacuates the body and cannot cause adverse reactions unless exposure involves abnormally large doses (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Nevertheless, a fair handful of United States citizens are medically unable to receive vaccines; for example, out of a billion people, nearly 250,000 possible vaccine reactions were documented
