Michael Jordan, considered the greatest basketball player in history, once said, “If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” This quote portrays the mindset Jordan had while he was struggling to achieve his dreams. The effectiveness of his mindset proved that we can turn it into a powerful weapon that will help us excel in life. Michael Jordan had a positive mindset. He didn’t give up after failing the first time. He kept trying to get where he wanted. His mindset defined him, much like how our mindsets define us. In retrospect, our mindset greatly defines who we are. Whether we want to make an effort toward achieving our goals or not, our mindset makes us do that. Michael Jordan didn’t stop trying until he achieved his goal, no matter how many failures he went through. He could accept failure, but he couldn’t accept not trying. Failure helped him become more successful, just like it has helped many others such as Tom Brady. Brady learned from his mistakes and became better at his job. These examples show us that our mindset can completely change our lives if we let it. If we change certain parts of our mindset such as being positive, accepting failure, and doing nothing less than hard work, then we can all become successful in whatever path we want to take.
