All throughout history women have proven to be the backbone of this country. From World war II when women took over all of the men’s jobs to keep the economy from plummeting until present day where a woman is a presidential candidate. Women are one of the most essential elements in the survival of human beings without them nothing can function. These men could not function without these women in their lives they caused chaos and almost blood shed because they were without the women they loved. They do not know how to be on their own and when they are there just searching to find a woman because it’s what they need. Theseus was completely fine throughout the play because he had Hippolyta by his side. They were getting married and he couldn’t be happier about having a wife. He never caused chaos or any trouble he actually was more compassionate because of his happiness with his wife. When Theseus found out Lysander and Hermia were going to run away to escape Athens laws he wasn’t mad he brushed it aside. He even allowed them to get married with him on his wedding day “Egeus I will overbear your will for in the temple by and by with us these couples shall eternally be knit” (Shakespeare act 4 scene 1). He could have killed them or banished all of them but instead he was fair and compassionate because being with his wife
