What is a heart attack? Myocardial Infarction (MI) commonly known as heart attack occur when blood supply is interrupted, causing damage or death of the heart cells. A heart attack can be caused from many reasons. You are able to tell when someone is having a heart attack because of the many symptoms.
A heart attack occurs when a artery that supplies blood to the heart collapses and stops the blood flow to the heart. A heart attack is very deadly and can instantly kill you if more than one artery collapse at one or you have had many in the past. “About 600,000 people die from a heart attack each year, 1-in-4 people. Every year about 720,000 have a heart attack (Heart Disease, 2014).” The cause of a heart attack is the blockage of an artery, for a artery to become blocked it will have a build up of substances like cholesterol.
