In the Bible, there is a story about the wise and foolish builders. One builder quickly built his house with sand, while the other took his time to build his house upon a rock. As a storm passed, the house made from sand washed away, but the house upon a rock stood strong. This story teaches us that anything that is built with a good foundation, is able to stand strong no matter what may come their way. A person can’t build a structure overnight in order to get a long lasting result. Instead, it’ll take a good amount of time to get the job done. A good society doesn’t establish itself overnight either. Over time with great effort and patience, it’ll be just as good as the work that’s been put into it. The key to a good society is also a good foundation. One of America’s foundations was created in the Declaration of Independence. It was written in 1776 by our founding fathers and has been revised in numerous ways over time. The document clearly fights for independence from Britain while stating the rights of fellow Americans.
